If you read this and then factor in that this guy is one of the best recruiters in the south. Add to that the fact that Drad says he is a top notch person.

I know nothing about Will the person, but I do know that he is one of the top scheme guys and recruiters in the country. If Drad says he has the right character for this job and he is the choice. I'm going to be pretty excited.

Great Muschamp Story

Will Muschamp appears to be to the dry-erase board what Pete Townshend of the Who is to the guitar.

That's great, now how are we going to score!? Also, can u in your wildest imagination picture him allowing a DC to run a D? We just finished SIX frustrating years imploring Chan to let the OC do his job.

I'm just curious, where are you guys coming up w/ him being a great recruiter? I can't find any reference to this in my "research". Is this just because of his personality and southern roots?

Macon,

I can't link anything but I know he was a big part of the recruiting LSU did earlier in the decade according to most people. The Hive recruiting guys have indicated that he is on a number of Auburn's top targets and a few guys we are recruiting.

I don't believe that WM is just some one trick defensive pony. I believe that he is knowledgable about what needs to happen to win football games. From people that know him, you get the sense that this guy is just a great all around football coach.

On Rivals Will Muschamp is listed as the recruiter of two Auburn signees in 07 and three 08 commits.

He is listed as the recruiting coach for Nick Claytor and Jon Dwyer.

I guess it's bad that he lost them to us. But it's also good for several reasons. He already has a good relationship with them, he knows from firsthand experience that GT has the talent to win right away, and he knows from firsthand experience that GT can win battles for big time recruits.

Can't access the article so this is a serious question. Does he smash dry-erase boards a lot?

Excerpts from the article:

His hand strikes the dry-erase board with incredible verocity ...Another dry-erase board broken, slicing into Will Muschamp’s hand ...This is not for show. Not the time he broke two boards in a row, or the time he couldn’t break one in the Ole Miss game so he just started beating it ... BOOM! Another busted play, another busted dry-erase board ...You have to realize it’s about motivating people and getting them to believe in your scheme and what you’re doing.” Muschamp’s method is breaking dry-erase boards and screaming ...“He will have dry-erase marker all over his face, and he’ll have blood somewhere on his hand because he’s already broken a board."

Does he smash dry-erase boards a lot?

Apparently he does.

:laugher:

Sounds like a well adjusted man who is ready to lead a group of kids & teach them about football and life in general......CRASH another broken dry erase board...Does anger issues & breaking dry erase boards = good leader/insititute representative/success ??? Just curious...
I think that the "Nanny" television show ought to do a segment on him....Now that would be interesting & humerous...:laugher: I don't think he's the right person for GT nor could he as a HC allow the DC position w/ Tenuta to go on their own...maybe they could have a cage fight & the winner gets GT!!! Pay per view

On a more serious note how is his relationship with the other coaches especially the ones he supervises???

OK, so we get a slab of Stone Mt granite, make it flat and 3' x 5' x 12" thick, mount dry mark board on the granite and see of he can break the granite. This guy is fired up and can motivate and get his point across. If not at GT for the HC job, I hope we never face him as HC.

OK, yesterday I raised a lot of questions about hiring a Mutt to be HC at GT.

Now, I'm totally sold on Muschamp. I hope DRad hires him.

I hope he does because it would probably fire people up.

If Muschamp comes in we should start a donation pool for a steady supply of new dry erase boards. I pledge five stanley nickels.

Even before I read about the blood, he was reminding me of a young Erk Russell. I'm seeing that even more

Well...

I love the idea of Muschamp. Young, brilliant, fiery, etc. But his record against UGA is PITIFUL unless I'm being misled.

I do not care more than a tiny IOTA about his Georgie roots. If GT had hired Irk Russel when Southern did there would be a statue of him outside the stadium. Dawg or not, the dude was a coach.

Does Edsall need to break some boards or cuss on youtube to wake people up to the fact that he has an actual bonafide track record of success versus a lot of potential.

I can see Neuheisel, pro and con. I can see Hatch and Edsall and PJ. But I can't see how Muschamp makes the same short list.

If hired --someone might need to put it in his ear that one reason he's here is because of a $4 million buyout. Only one dry-erase board shattering per game please.

In WM's defense, the cards were kind of stacked against him his last two games against Georgia. The game this year was their "black out" game at Sanford that pumped up the players so much and last year Brandon Cox literally had maybe the worst game of any major school QB I had ever seen.

His other games too, especially against Florida, he has done very well.
