I don't see it happening, but I like that he's saying it nonetheless. This is the sort of narrative he needs to be pushing. No more talk of a rebuild.

It makes him sound fake as hell cause no one - not even he - actually believes that garbage.

Maybe, but given that he's been emphasizing major rebuild since he got here, I see it as a nice change. Publicly harping on how you're in a major rebuild isn't really exciting to fans or recruits.

I think we should be NIT bound at worst with Alvarado, Devoe, Banks and Usher, presuming they progress even a little bit. Not crazy to think tournament if things come together like they did in year 1. If he doesn't get more players, though, next year or the following one will probably be the ceiling.

Pitiful to beg for one more year like that. Next thing we know he will say, “Read my lips. NCAA next year.”

For those in the know as regards contract buyouts -

Does CJP have any choice but the Tourney (andperhaps beating ugag) next year?

I like how he says making the tournament this year at 12-17, 4-12 will be “tough.” You don’t say.

I had the same reaction, he sounds pathetic and desperate ("I was given 5 years"...).

Good news is we now know he's out of here after year 5. I just don't get why he hasn't been able to recruit...

lol. this is Josh's way of saying "give me one more chance!"

i listened to the first 15 min of Pastner's radio show on 2/25. so pathetic. he is blaming this year's failures on "Josh Okogie blind siding decision to go pro". he said it over and over and over again. it was so pathetic to listen to. i lost all respect for him and turned it off at that point. you're the head coach, you should not have been blind sided. you should have been ready. he bitched about the fact that if he had known Josh was going pro he would have taken that Xavier kid that's on Pitt, but he didn't take him because he didn't want him stuck behind Okogie. Dafuq? Take the best kids, especially if they want to be here ("he desperately wanted to come to Tech but i didn't take him"). he's such a bitch.

So if Okogie had stayed we could not have used anyone else?

Pastner's unprovoked rambling made absolutely no sense at all. Even Demetra was more awkward than usual because he wasn't sure how to respond to Pastner's break.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has trouble listening to his dribble.
