We’ve gotten good on defense. Next year we improve on offense. Coach isn’t crazy to see it happening, and thank God he isn’t full of pessimism like many here.

    I believe him.

I, for one, am not pessimistic on Tech's ability to field a good basketball team. Great city, great conference, great college, good facilities. We need some rational branding that is not goofy. I hope he gets it going. I really do. But he can't turn down players like Johnson and he can't have association with people like Bell.

We are not playing good defense in the past few weeks. Teams have been getting wide open shots and torching us on shooting percentage.

Yeah we’ve given up some open shots no doubt.

I had asked in a previous thread about this. If it's a result of the kids not playing as hard that does not bode well for his future at GT

Hard to blame the kids for getting a little dejected as the season wore on. I certainly did.

We’re playing more offensive focused lineups and playing with more tempo. Scoring more and giving up more. Our D was great when we played Moore banks and gueye a lot; now slojuind gets heavy minutes and we only play 1 big. Team is still awful either way.

Alvarado, Banks, and Devoe are solid. Wright, Moore, and Haywood have played well in spurts and should improve. Sjolund could be a real threat if he gets consistent shooting percentage. Cole can be a useful role player. I don't follow our hoops recruiting at all but if I recall, we already have some decent commits to fill the gaps; just missed out on one-and -done level guys. We'd need them to be really good day 1 to make the NCAA tournament.

I thought we got a commit from some kid named Usher that was decent? Damn it, I'm gonna have to look it up now.

Edit: He's a transfer but at 6'7" can eat up Gueye's minutes.

I shouldn't have looked. I guess CJP thinks there's no way we can shoot as poorly as a team all next season as we did this year.

It is pure propaganda by JP to get the pressure off of him for another year. I just don’t see this level of talent making the NCAA tournament next year. We may make the NIT.
The bottom line, His poor recruiting effort is not raising this program to another level. He was hired for his recruiting skills/ability

Morpheus needs to have a training class for the rest of our head coaches. CJP needs more @s #s and emotes.

I want Juanyeh around all of our sporting teams. There's something special about that kid. Go shag some fly balls and take BP.
