So, after he scored his touchdown, he went over to the sideline and he was doing pushups. I didnt see it while at the game but on the abc broadcast later. Anyone have any idea what that was all about?

The FSU secondary wasn't giving Greg much resistance so he opted to instead take on the earth itself.

And he won.

I don't remember him doing it, but maybe not acting like he had been there before? Still pissed my tivo recorded the wrong blasted channel...

Does CPJ have it out for Smith or something? I know he is tough on everyone, but Smith seems to have had a rough ride.

From what I've read/seen, Smith has had a bit of a "me first" attitude at times. Not wanting to block, taking plays off, etc. He seems to have sold himself back onto the team though.

He made a really nice seal block that sprung one of those toss sweeps to Roddy or Marcus. This kid just might bloom into one heckuva player in this system. My guess is PJ sees his potential and is willing to stick with him as long as his attitude is on the mark. Or maybe its just our lack of depth at the position.:ugh:

I think it was about the way he went into the endzone. He kind of went in at a weird angle, choosing not to lower his head and take on the tacklers. I saw it too, wondered what it was about. CPJ said something to him as he came off the field, patted his helmet, then I see him doing the push-ups. I thought it must have been for not going full-speed into the endzone. Just a guess.

Speaking of which, where was the beloved "helmet-to-helmet" penalty on that play?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't because of the way he went into the endzone. Watching from home, they showed him doing a celebration move. Looked like a swim move or something to bring attention to himself, nothing much really, just something that didnt include the rest of his teammates. After he did it, he then celebrated with his guys and came over to the sideline where CPJ had a few words for him. My guess is he was congratulating him but also admonishing him for the celebration. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't that much of an individual celebration, but I don't think CPJ much cares for any "look at me" sort of antics after a touchdown.

Just my two cents.

THWG!!
