Did anybody else wonder what the hell Al groh was thinking last night when they scored their TD? They were down 24-0, and although it might have been an unrealistic goal, three touchdowns with 2-pt PAT's would have gotten them to a tie, yet he kicked the point after. Maybe he just figured the TD was a fluke and only because we turned the ball over deep in our own territory, but why not at least pretend you think you might comeback?

Actually, if I was a betting man, I would have taken UVa and the points, given our past history with them. Had no doubts we'd win, but 17 seemed a little much.

On Groh, I felt a lot better when I saw them line up to kick the PAT, knowing they would have still needed 3 scores to catch up. Almost felt I was watching Chuck the falsetto-voiced dwarf coach....
 
I would agree that Groh is an idiot. But its because he had Calvin in single coverage NOT because he choose to go for the PAT instead of the 2. At that point, what's the difference? More than likely you are not going to have 3 successful 2 point conversions and you'll wind up needing the field goal ANYWAY.

We basically gave them their only touchdown because of the face mask call on Roberson after the huge sack.
 
Groh's not an idiot. UVA will be back unfortunately. They've just hit their rebuild stride and lull of unlovliness.

No Humanitarian for these boys!
