I bet we're the only school on there with both coaches on the "hot seat." Of course, Gailey made sense and Hewitt (at least for now) seems to have figured things out.

Other things to note:
- no ugag (duh)
- other ACC schools = Maryland (10th) and BC (22nd), NC State honorable mention

We also just missed the list of teams since 1974 at #26:

GO JACKETS!

here's the math: http://sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=rivals-197603&prov=rivals&type=lgns

Coach Hewitt has never been on the hot seat, except maybe for a couple fans on a message board. That is pretty cool though...just goes to show that everything is not as bad as it seems, in general. Coach Gailey's mediocre but consistent success helps us out a lot in this regard.

Yeah, Gailey did help out.

And Hewitt is why I put "hot seat" in quotes. Although it seemed to be a popular thing to demand a couple weeks ago.

And the AJC (who it seems we all love) had a poll just a day or two ago that asked, "Does GT have to make the NCAA Tournament to get Paul Hewitt off the hot seat?" or something like that.

I answered "no" to the poll and when i viewed the results it was a 66/34 split in favor or "no". You bet if it had been the other way around the AJC would've saved the poll and later (if we went on a losing streak) spun that poll into an inflamatory story calling for CPH's head. Good old fashioned baiting by the AUC.

haha thanks

I sent it to the admin to see if they wanted to use it, but I figured I'd at least just make it my signature.

You could probably make a case for #15 Syracuse.

Do Syracuse fans want to fire Boeheim? They won 24 games last year and are 15-7 this year? And he's somewhat of a legend.

Althought their football program has gone to crap.

It seemed to all start falling apart after we obliterated them like 51-14 in the Champs Sports Bowl back in 2004.
They fired their coach after that game, and the new one sucks. Nuff said.

Btw, that 51-14 drubbing was one of the most well coached Tech games in Chan's tenure. Our offense was outstanding, defense was outstanding, everything worked.

It's not so much that they want to fire him as they've resigned themselves to the fact that he'll leave on his terms and the team will plug along just under the radar of the contenders most years. His teams are actually very similar to CPH's in that they tend to struggle early in the year and in the league, then play their asses off to close the season. In the years when they struggle more, the fans just walk away up there.
