Cross-posting since I don't see it here.

For those speculating that the problem is only GT fans inflated expectations you can read for yourself that the disappoinment goes beyond GT fans. (Even Lou Holtz seemed baffled at our inconsistency. :eek5:)

ACC Mid Season

UVA is rated as this season's "biggest surprise"

I figure Clemson is a bigger disappointment at this point, what with their running backs that could start anywhere and a QB who looked to be giving them a decent passing attack early on.

No, the Virginia and Maryland losses trump theirs to us and VPISU. The report still lists us as bowl-bound though.

It would take a miracle not for us to make a bowl game, with Duke, UNC, and Army left on our schedule. We only need three more wins with six games left to play.

On a tangent for my own thread...
I know that any bowl is better than none for exposure, revenue, etc. But I ALMOSTwould rather go to no bowl than to go somewhere lame. If we limp into a bowl at 6-6 after the promise of this season it will be hard to get excited.

P.S.
If you watched UNC recently you would not be counting them as a win so quickly. Davis is going to turn that program around before we know it.

I would agree but I'd like to keep our streak of bowl games alive.

at this point a bowl is a HUGE victory. It gives all those young players 1 more month of practice before they they are pulled ino starting roles next year. We graduate 13 starters. Next year we will be lucky to win 4

Why on God's green earth would we even want to go to any bowl after going 6-6 with three of our wins being Duke, Samford, and Army? That means that in reality, we would be 3-6 against real football teams. Give it up my friend. The bowl streak is over and it should be. Last year the planets aligned for Tech and we spit in the face of good fortune. Spit in the MF'ing face of prosperity. A BCS bid was on a platter and we could not put the ball across the goal line against the greatness that is Wake f'ing Forest. With the best college player in the nation, we could not score one touchdown against a team of posers. Why? They had a coach; we didn't.

We should all be prepared to go West for the holidays, because if that guy's article turns out to be correct,

we will be one of 9 ACC teams going bowling.

You forgot ND

Astute lonestar. You are right on the money.
No. You're both shortsighted retards. I know it's already been pointed out in this thread, but apparently your ADHD kicked in before you got that far, just by playing in a bowl our players, particularly the younger, less experienced ones, gain a free month of practice that those without bowls don't receive. That is invaluable.

And if you don't support your team in a bowl, even at 6-6, just stay the **** home from now on. And don't ever bitch about the team again, because your lack of support feeds the poor impression everyone (including recruits and coaches, not to mention national media) already have about our fickle fanbase.

Well, fans don't get a vote so what you or I think really doesn't matter at all. The players will decide if they want to go bowling if they get a bid. It's for them, not the fans.

Lonestar did actually say that he would "almost" rather us go to no bowl than to the "Whatever Corporation Bought the Naming Rights to our Crappy Bowl" Bowl. He even capitalized the word almost.

"Whatever Corporation Bought the Naming Rights to our Crappy Bowl" Bowl.

The appropriate Stingtalk Term for the remainder of the season is the following:

CRAFTMATIC ADJUSTABLE BED BOWL

Get it right.

Let's just hope Nashville, Charlotte, or Orlando...or we could always win out and be 9-3 and I'd be happy with that too.
