I was reading the ESPN blogs, and man oh man is Heather Dinich overlooking our Jackets.

She is already posting BCS computer polls and how VT may not get to play for the MNC regardless if they win out. I have read other articles in other sources with the same stuff. Even the VT boards are booming with talk of BCS championship game.

Objectively though, VT hasn't played much of anybody. Their only quality opponents were MIA and BAMA, I wouldn't consider Marshall, Duke (which held Ryan Williams), and BC to be juggernauts at all.

I kinda like all of this GT is the underdog in their own home on homecoming.

IMO, VT beating BC last week as bad as they did sure makes me feel a little better about the team becoming a little complacent. They haven't had their real big complacent game yet, here's to it on Saturday!

VPI's remaining schedule:

@GT
UNC
@ECU
@Maryland
NCSt
@UVA

I don't see how they will overlook us, as we are by far their toughest opponent left. They might have a bad game but it won't be because of complacency. Get ready to receive their best shot.

Oh I don't doubt it will be a tough game. Just saying, teams that usually (ACC teams anyways) come into a big game after several big wins against nobodies, they tend to not show up.

GT isn’t being overlooked. The article just isn’t about us. It’s ok for Heather Dinich to do that 11/12 of the time.

Does this that GT is not a quality opponent or are you just referring to past opponents?

They did beat Nebraska you know, if they aren't quality then what are we?

Beat Nebraska and killed Miami. Their quality wins are much better than ours. Even their loss was much more competitive than ours. Like CPJ said, ...let's earn some respect.

I can't wait for Saturday. I know we can beat them. Whether we play D is up in the air at this point.

BARELY beat nebraska! they needed to put up a 70+ yard bomb with less than a minute left, from their own 20, with limited timeouts to pull it out. they won in MIRACULOUS fashion.

both these games were at home as well. the UM game was in a torrential downpour so their(UM) speed(specifically at the WR position) was largely negated. VT had a more physical team and this may cause us trouble, but i believe the miami team that beat us would also have beat VT that night as well.

that's why its college football...just never can tell.

just not sold on their O......but everyone has been questioning our D. although i believe our D has played pretty well at home. i think this is going to be the match-up of the game.

so we definitely need to get behind our D this weekend!!!!!
