Where did GT finish in the top 25 rankings for these years?

2006 Not ranked in top 25
2005 Not ranked in top 25
2004 Not ranked in top 25
2003 Not ranked in top 25
2002 Not ranked in top 25
2001 Not ranked in top 25
2000 Ranked 16
1999 Ranked 19
1998 Ranked 13

Thanks, Gailey

Thanks geetee, I didn't know that. Thank you so much for informing me about the obvious once again!

Let me try to get something through your thick head. Just because people are not posting anti-Gailey threads every day, does NOT mean we are HAPPY with where the program is. Nor do we NOT recognize that we tanked the 2nd half of the season.

Can you grasp that? Is that possible? Or will you continually feel the need to make stupid posts wasting people's times about pointing out stuff that we all know already?

Because if you do feel that need, then I can safely say you should be thrown off this board for not actually offering anything worthy of conversation. All you are doing is trying to invoke emotional reactions in people, not intelligent discussions. Do you know the difference?

So, you knew the final rankings for the years prior to Gailey? Good for you, most of us probably didn't recall the exact numbers. But, if you and others did...you have a great memory! ;)

What I think would be beneficial would be to add a column for highest ranking during the season. How high did we climb during each of those seasons?

So what's your point? Answer the question.

Gailey IS the coach, and he WILL BE the coach.

Oh, yes. You want him fired and will happily see Tech lose all of it's games if only it will get him fired.

So, tech will lose all of its games without Gailey and only lose about five per year with Gailey? My how things have changed as GT was finishing in the top 25 for years prior to his arrival.

Weren't we were ranked like 24 or 25 after the Champs Sports bowl a couple of years ago????

OK, let me make myself clear: you will happily watch Tech lose every game if it results in Gailey getting fired.

That's what you've been saying, isn't it?

That's what I've inferred from your constant refusal to answer my question, which I'm not going to repeat here.

GeeTee, I noticed you used the AP to get your results.

Take note of this:

2005 - BCS - #24
2006 - USA Today - #25.

Not outstanding numbers, but they are contrary to your "facts."

For the record, Chan Gailey inherited a team that had finished in the AP Top 25 for 5 years in a row.

http://http://cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/acc/georgia_tech/in_the_polls.php

Final AP Rankings for GT:
1997....#25
1998....#9
1999....#20
2000....#17
2001....#24

Chan said that he came to Tech because Tech was already a Top 25 team and that he was here to win championships and beat UGA.

He inherited a Tech program in the best shape that any Tech coach had ever inherited.

He has failed miserably....based on his own stated goals. He has not won an ACC championship. He has not defeated UGA. He has not finished in the AP Top 25....NOT ONE TIME.

Any fair analysis of his tenure at Tech is that, AT BEST, he is a mediocre coach. And has lowered our beloved TECH from a perenial TOP 25 program to a mediocre program led by a mediocre coach.

Enough is enough.

yep, those "facts" that are in both those TWO links I provided was something I fabricated just to make a point on how Gailey has lowered the program from where it was when he got here many years ago. Not showing are the 2006 rankings which, as we know, will again have GT not shown in the top 25. Maybe we'll be in the lower 30's this time! :fingersx:
