In what appears to be an unprecedented move in today's colligiate scheduling, Ga Tech has contracted with a Div 1aa team for a gm 7 yrs from now:wow: . Radakovich acts like he's in a mad rush to make sure Tech has a Div1aa school lined up for a home date each season before all the 1aa teams are taken:laugher: . Nearly all of the major conference teams try to find more attractive games such as Div1a Troy coming in or a 2 home gms for 1 away with MidTennSt. The major teams will then fill in any remaining schedule holes a yr or 2 or 3 in advance with a Div1aa, which are extremely easy to get;) .
When u commit to 1aa teams too far in advance it cuts down on how u can schedule the major H & A gms with the teams u really want to pay to see:rolleyes: . Tech needs a home gm for '11 & '12, with Ga Southern almost assuredly being the team for 1 of those yrs, if not both. IMO, Radakovich might ought to be getting a home gm with Auburn for '11 or '12 & playing @ Aub in '13.
Oh well, here's the announcement from Elon, which seems pretty happy about the game on Aug 31, 2013 & about finally jumping into the higher guarantee $ gms vs Div1a.

in 2013 we have The Big 3 from the other division....we have FSU, Clemson, and Boston College...this in addition to our divisional foes in VaTech, Miami, and UVA. Throw in UGA from OOC.

That is 7 big games....plenty for me and good to lock up a D1AA we can truly play our depth against and not worry about getting sneaked up on (i.e. Furman, App. St.)...and a team from nearby that will bring some fans such as Troy and Samford did.

I am happy about this one...we have enough to worry about in 2008 and 2013.

Ace don't worry. There's a large chance Elon won't be able to field a football team by then and we'll have to replace them on our schedule.

I think you may be speaking a bit too soon. If the acc keeps it up at the current rate, we may be buying ourselves out of the Elon tilt. ;)

Well...I think we have been arguably the best conference over the past two seasons...and since we led all conferences in players drafted into the NFL last year, some rebuilding was bound to take place.

However, I think it is safe to say there is no reason for Miami, FSU, or VaTech to fall over any extended period. But...there is really no reason for a Clemson to ever struggle...and they had off years...but that was not going to happen in the long run.

OUr goal needs to be to win the conference and get to the BCS...that puts you in a position to win a natl championship.

While it may be more fun for us to play UGA, Auburn, Tenn, and Alabama for OOC every year...we could beat every one of them and not go to the ACC Championship, nor the BCS, and not even finish Top 10.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the way the current system is set up....playing in a super BCS conference your goal is only to win your conference...then see where the chips fall.

I was just kidding. Hence the ;)

sorry pocket...guess I need to relax.

I just really want this game.

I am also a bit ticked that NCState took another breath last night when BC could have put a final nail in the coffin. Now they have new life as Amato put it "We are undefeated in the ACC".

No you don't. I like the way you are always thinking about getting us to Jax and beyond. I only hope Elon will be the first game. If we are going to be big boys we need to have 2 or 3 weeks of cupcakes before we play anything meaningful. The other side to that is AU playing Buffalo the week after LSU, but that was to rest everyone. They should have their depth issues settled now.

That was as funny as seeing the uga redneck fans on row one yelling "Wuure number 1", after coming back from the grave yesterday.

(after hitting preview, my reply is mixed in with your quote) Sorry for my feeble skills.

Amato is like watching some sort of perverted cartoon character.
