I have been following GT football since 1973 and we have three influential winners since that time. Our one bowl team during Pepper Rodgers had a quaterback coach by the name of Steve Spurrier. He was not good enough for Bill Curry so he was let go.
The bowl team under Curry we had a quarterback that had a chip on his shoulder John Dewberry that was the best leader we had at Georgia Tech.
During the Ross and O Leary years we had a genius for an Offensive coordinator that just beat us two years in a row.
Tech is an extremly hard place to recruit quality players, therefore we need to be more creative than our opponents. I do not see anyone on this current staff able to reach this level.
I see us as a bottom ACC program unless we get extremely lucky finding another progressive coaching staff. Coach Gailey might be fine at a school that he can play vanilla football(Mich, OHio State, Alabama, UGA) when he can get excellent talent. Unfortunately this is not the case at Georgia Tech.
