GT to be Clemson\'s homecoming game

Tech beat Clemson in '05 10-9 on our Homecoming day, but I don't think Clem is playing tit-for-tat. The Tigers really didn't have any choice as the Yellow Jackets are their only home gm in October. They could've waited for Maryland on Nov 4, but why pass up an Oct 21, Saturday afternoon, gm with old rival GT?
Clemson should easily make a Bowl this season with home gms vs Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, So Carolina & @ Temple. The only question is how far up the Bowl ladder they can go?

Take away their rival, and they sure play a killer of a non conference schedule.

Clemson is a lot like Tech except Tech starts strong, and loses games late, Clemson starts terribly and makes up for it late in the year, against South Carolina, and in bowls.

I applaud schools that choose seemingly tough games as HC opponents. It's smart too. A graduate has to really love homecoming to be willing to travel for a non event football game.

GT's homecoming is Miammaaa. I wonder when the last time they have ever been a homecoming for an opponent. It's probably been 25 years. That should give them all the more motivation not to be humiliated again by the "school of the blind". I suggest we kick their ever-lovin' arses again...

Wasn't Notre Dame our HC opponent in '80 when we tied 'em?

Pretty sure we won homecoming game that year. I think it was against NCState. We haven't lost a HC game in at least the last 5 years since I enrolled.

2001 - NCState
2002 - UVA
2003 - NCState
2004 - Duke
2005 - Clempson

Not sure about HC games before 2001.

the last homecoming lost might have been Clemson in 1995. I don't remember us losing a homecoming game while I was a student from 96-00.

This record is very impressive. Maybe we can celebrate Homecoming every other year the weekend after Thanksgiving. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
