I know comparative scores mean nothing... but.. jeez. We beat the top 3 in the ACC Coastal (UNC, Pitt, Duke) and lost to the bottom two of three (Miami, UVA).
Virginia Tech lost to everyone.
This team was possibly the strangest Tech football team I've ever seen. Lots of valid reasons for that (coaching change, injuries, etc.) But still, how odd to beat 3 quality opponents and lose to 2 of the 3 worst teams in the division. Tech should have won the division and be playing for the ACC championship when you consider all the results and comparative scores. Miami was absolutely putrid this year. UVA was even worse. Win those two, as all analysis would suggest we should have, and we win the Coastal.
As nice as it is to win more than 3 games for a change, and as difficult as the challenges were with the coaching change and injuries, you could make an argument that Tech underperformed this season. Just sayin....
