If ya go by Rivals.com list of the Top 100 HS players in Fla, who are very good prospects btw, as the compass. U certainly expect the Big 3 Florida schools to do very well on this list & they do. U gotta figure Ohio St , Alabama & Auburn as big players with Illinois, Georgia & other Big 10 schools getting some. However, there are some big surprises, imo.

1) Wake Forest has 5 commitments from the Sunshine State's Top100. Not just skill players, either. 2 OLs, a TE, a LB & a QB. That's staggering. As long as Grobe is at Winston-Salem the Deacons will stay a solid program. Who'd have thought 5 yrs ago???

2) South Florida(Big East Bowl team), Central Florida(Conference USA Champion), Florida Atlantic(Sun Belt Champion) & Florida International ought to be doing much better on this list than they are.

3) Clemson is doing a heck of a job committing 4 top Florida recruits. Nice job Tigers!

4) Georgia Tech has 3 Top 100 prospects from South-of-the-border. Another, Reid, played in the Florida North-South All Star gm.

Great job of recruiting Florida by GT, WF & Clem!!!!!

Interesting list. I haven't been paying that much attention to anyone else, is Wake putting together a top recruiting class?

Well there u go!

The Yellow Jackets just added their 6th Floridian for the upcoming class. Tampa's OL Phil Smith is not on the Top100 list, but has been offered by Penn St. Blountstown CB Jon Lockhart is also not in the Top 100. Florida is one of Lee Corso's famous 'SPEED' states to go with Georgia & Texas. Corso says he looks to see how many players a team has from the 'speed' states.

Wake Forest is having a real decent recruiting year. They still aren't getting the 4 star prospects, but are getting a lot of 3 star guys & avoiding the 1 twinklers.
Here's the real telling story to me, WF has 7 recruits from Fla, 3 from Ga & 1 via Texas out of 15 total. The Deacons have never done well in NCarolina, but are now getting into the 'speed' states & avoiding Mid-Atlantic & N'eastern states. Just a thought. Here's the recruits headed to Wake's campus, so far;
