GT\'s recruiting notebook from Augusta Chronicle

Makes me want to throw up the way people, media & fans are now perceiving Ga Tech football. Very sickening. What makes it even worse is that they may have hit the mark. I don't know, I just don't know.

for very obvious reasons, good thing that the dude who wrote the article for the augusta chronicle didn't know about stingtalk. thankfully Big Buck's classy joke didn't make it.

IM most HO What Chan has done in rec. considering the last 2 games has done a good job. Just think with the Dawg's year if he had not rec Texas and Fl. as hard as he did and instead focused all of that energy on Ga we might really be in a mess1!!! He did get some good players out of Ga. even at that. And if Kenny comes aboard our # 43 ranking moves up a good bit. I dare say with Kenny and the 2 from yesterday which probably were not included in that latest ranking that we may move up 10 spots!. Add in Allen which probaly would come after the final rankings and maybe Sharp we could finish between say 28 and 30! Of course a lot depends on those teams now ahead of us. What I am trying to say is that with all thats happened and by us getting Scott Chan is not doing to bad!

Ace, I feel some of your frustrations, and in my case these have been creeping in but have nearly 100% arrived......there are several things that REALLY HURT:

"Most Internet message boards do not require participants to list their real names."
(From the posted article)

I am by no means a real bravado, but I sincerely wonder how all the posts would be if people had to come out from the "cover" of a Psuedonmym. All I can say in this situation is "Very interesting to think of".

Happy? No!!
Content: No!!
Satisfied: No!!
Dissapointed: Yes!!
Really "let down": Yes!!
Disgusted: Yes !!
Still behind CG and staff: yes!! but becoming a "what have you done for us lately type"!!

Bottom line: "Extreme production soon, or the bottom drops out." To Coach CG and any who have his ear: You have let him down thus far; so I addresss Coach Chan directly: Coach, begin to communicate or get someone to do it for you, NOW!!!!!! Else, you do not want to sail the rocky seas that are before you. Production is the name of the game......period. You know this and so, you must act upon it. Since we have had mediocre "production", The indians are restless, those who have stood up for you are restless......hang us out to dry and you (sorry to say) will hang with us.
The time is: NOW!!! Commmunicate!!!!!!!! You have some starving affectionados who have stood for you and your staff and you need to respond to them, and show that everything is looking good if not great. Rehire the producers or fire the non-producers; that is the only way you shall survive this vicious world of college football.
Losing "semis" to lesser schools and then having to go below your first, and sometimes second choices in verbals/signees is not good news.....Please wake up!!! Come to the aid of those who have stood up for you.......Make a significant splash or at least tell us what the problem is......Confession is good for the soul and also for the souls of those who have stood with you.
How I would seem as a repliant fool from the actions of Coach Gailey and his staff in the hours ahead. I would be most happy to be such . Glory!! So be it....... I hope everything I have said proves to be totally premature.

I understand our need for Chan to communicate to us somehow, but he positively wont right now during this rec time. He will Wed night and for those who wont be there I'm sure someone will post a recap as someone always do!!

Re: GT\'s recruiting notebook from Augusta Chronicle

Yeah, but Techrod, all he's gonna say is 'we got a good class & won't really know for 2-3 yrs'. It's not going to be anything the fans or media can really latch onto.
I felt so good about Chan & staff, about our football program. Then the WF game. What a slide my ego's had since then. And ya'll don't even want to know what I think about recruiting.
The sad part is the way non-Tech fans view, look at & analyze GT now. It is so dramatically different than 1 yr ago. It's like other college football fans pity us. Aaaargh.

Re: GT\'s recruiting notebook from Augusta Chronicle

John or Techsamillion, thanks for saying some things. If I'd have said them, some would already be crawling down my shirt. It all starts with recruiting & if u ain't got them to coach up, well it'll be a battle with Clem, Duke & WF to keep outta the cellar.
'03 could be very good as we still have some very good upper classmen players. If we don't have a real winning season with a real Bowl game, the wheels will come off & the GT fans will unite.

IN-STATE STANDOUTS: SuperPrep.com reported that Roswell defensive end Emmanuel Awofadeju favors Stanford over Tulane, Notre Dame, Virginia and Maryland
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Looks like David Kelly at work. I guess if Awofadeju is smart enough for Stanford he could have made us a good defensive end. Maybe that wasn't our priority.
