Yessiree, Tech has filled it's opening for a home game in '10 with South Carolina St of the Div 1aa Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). This is a direct quote from the Ga Tech AD, Dan Radakovich, on his pregame show with Wes Durham. It pretty much guarantees that Rambling Wreck fans will be shelling out the big bucks for a home gm with a Div 1aa team in '06, '07, '08, '09 & '10.
Rad also mentioned that he's had "conversations" with the Georgia Southern AD about GSU playing @ GT in the future. This gm couldn't materialize before the '11 season. The Yellow Jackets need a home game in both '11 & '12 & our AD's posturing seems to favor a Div 1aa gm for both those seasons.
Thought I'd paste hiveredtech's list of future schedules for everyone's viewing enjoyment. Keep in mind that U of Miami plays @ GT in the even number yrs & Virginia Tech plays here in the odd yrs. Add those 2 teams & there are some interesting schedules coming up!

2007- @NotDame(9/1), Army, Samford, UGA(11/24)
Clemson, @Maryland, BostonCollege

2008- Miss. St (9/20), Jax St., @Army, @UGA

I'm sure its been mentioned before on here, but what was the rationale for dropping Louisville for Miss State?

I'm all for getting some decent SEC teams on the schedule, but wouldn't mind playing higher echelon teams...Ole Miss looks like they are headed in the wrong direction and Miss State has been atrocious the past 4-5 years.

I think someone posted, that the rationale was in part, to enhance recruiting in these "heavy" SEC areas.

Playing a strong Louisville team in a poor prospect state like Ky offers us nothing. At least the Miss games are in the SE where we can draw recruits.

Did anyone see Army play last night? They are for real and should not be taken lightly!

What is the rationale?

We have VaTech and Miami in our division in 2008 plus the big 3 in the other division in FSU, Clemson, and Boston College. 5 bonifide ranked opponents...add in UGA....that is 6 which is PLENTY.

2007 gets hard enough changing out NCState for Boston College.

2008 is downright brutal in conference. The last thing we need to worry about is out of conference games!

Lame. It ought to be against the law to schedule games with div. 1aa schools.:thumbdn: :thumbdn:
