35-6 - no complaints with that score. Glad to see defense step up with big plays - expecially Jamal Lewis. Listening to Wes it sounds like Hall and Word-Daniels have been solid on D, Choice and Grant running well on O with Gardner blocking well.

Second half I hope we pound away with a power running game.

Clemson got really lucky with questionable fumble recovery as BC was near the goal - then the long pass to the true freshman. Go Eagles in second half!

No joy here in the RTP - Zips, Hokies, and Duke's ineptitide in kicking a 22 yard FG saw to that!:laugher:

Jackets looked much better in 1st half than PSU looks today.

Go Jackets!

tell me again why we are unranked and PSU is again?

Hope we can work our #2 and #3 Qbs in there in the 2nd half.

35-6, no complaint about the score. Serious complaint with the playcalling against a overmatched Samford defense.

The playsheet for the 1st half says it all. Dink pass to one of the Johnsons to the left or dink pass to the right. 1 pass in the middle(Greg Smith, 17 yards) and 1 pass to the fullback(Mike Cox, dropped). Why? Why not work on area you are weak at?

No complaint about the fade-jump passes to Calvin Johnson in the end zone because any school would exercise the same weapon but to keep throwing to him laterally and have him fight for a 7-8-9 yard gains is ridiculous.

Lets get Garner(if dressed out and able to play), Bennett, and Jamaal Evans in there for the second half and turn away from page 1 of the book 'How to play it safe against a overmatched opponent' and do something with the football that could benefit the team the rest of the year..

Complaining about playcalling and we are up 35-6? Good grief slj. Relax and enjoy. :-)

I love the fact we challenged our OL to get tough in the 2nd qtr and run block....big carries by Choice and Grant. Then....two fades for TD's to CJ. That would be a great formula for us if we can do it against ACC opponents.

Hivered: No complaint with the passes to C. Johnson and running the ball.

Other than that shouldn't Tech, after the 14-0 start working on weaknesses? Did this game......more or less about as challenging as the scrub team on weekdays......make Tech better? How about Reggie Ball? He ended up averaging 5 yards per attempt and threw a pick.

Garner ended up getting some crumb minutes. Very disappointing. Bennett was 4-9 for 29 yards.....3 yards per attempt is incredibly bad. 4th string numbers. Kyle Manley got a couple of series, no complaint there....he's deserving of them because he is a loyal soldier but then Garner needed many of the reps that went to Bennett.

The runback of 55 yards on the kickoff early in the game was bad, Another special teams letdown.

Samford had a good idea of trying to matchup a wide reciever....an athlete....with the ideal height to guard C. Johnson on the expected lobs in the endzone. I wouldn't be surprised if the teams on the rest of the schecule start trying something similiar.....but likely with better athletes.
