In case this slipped by the astute eyes of the Stingtalk board readers, GT has a number of all-star players coming in. Big congrats are due these guys for garnering respect from the state's HS coaches. I'm not saying these are top notch football recruits, but am saying that this group has some talent that can be developed, with proper coaching & motivation, into darn good college players. I'm pretty sure that all will rs in '06, but u never know for absolute.
Demaryius Thomas & Robert Hall played for the South team in the Ga N-S all-star game & Ben Anderson played for the South team in the SCar N-S all-star gm /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif. Also, Trevor Bray was named 1st team all-state in the Pennsylvania private school league /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif. The private schools in Penn have about 10% the # of students as does public HSs.

I'll tell you one thing...they play some serious sports in that regiona of VA. It would be great to get someone every year (or a couple) from Ches., Hampton, Norfolk area.

In the southeast Florida, Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina have some seriously good high school athletics being played (and in that order). The other Southern states just cannot compete (except for Louisiana until the hurricaine). Population has everything to do with it.

North Carolina is carved up between the four ACC shcools and really is at a diadvantage.

So the schools in Florida, Georgia, and Viginia will dominate the ACC. Clemins will have to pick Georgia and Maryland will have to pick Virginia. It is always going to be an uphill climb for those schools.

Pardon me, Jacketup

Bray did indeed get chosen to the Virginia private HS all-state team.
Virginia is playing a better brand of football than at any time in the past & is sending many more to div1a as the population explodes in that area. It just seems to me that the Atlantic Coast region doesn't produce, in quantity, the tough & speedy players that Fla, Ga, Ala, La & Tex comes up with year in/yr out. Virginia may be changing this thought pattern
