Do you ever think it's weird you live in the greatest most awesomest country on Earth? Statistically unlikely especially if you were born here. Like 1 in 30 chance.

Anyway Happy Birthday to our federal republic
 
Drove up I-395 from the hinterlands of Virginia to watch the fireworks. Everybody just turns 395 into a parking lot starting around the Pentagon. Sad to say they were a bit - quite a bit, actually - underwhelming this year.

They looked good on TV. But I have never seen them in person and don't really have anyway to compare to previous years.
 
Today is the day they woke up hungover and Thomas Jefferson said "what the hell did we do yesterday? I was blasted"
