Harbaugh taking the team to Italy

Obviously not a special benefit, as all 44,700 UM students will be on the trip, paid for by the athletic dept. :heelclick:

The Italian football conference has lodged a formal complain with the NCAA that this is giving Michigan a recruiting advantage.

Yeah, really gotta believe harbaugh said, "hey let's go to Italy without checking with the NCAA!"

Seems like I remember some team going to Ireland to play football.

Big difference in playing an NCAA sanctioned game and practicing. I would be shocked if it isn't okay by NCAA rules but it won't be come August.

Don't see any difference when people start framing it as regards "benefits not available to other students."

JMO

I was just in Rome a few days ago. Pretty sweet for the UofM players.

Perhaps CPJ should arrange a trip to Rome Ga for our boys. They've already conquered Athens.
