I know some of you think I am drinking the koolaid on Hatch but I am glad that you finally got to hear him yourselves.

I have told you that every time I talk to him I get excited even if it's about cutting the grass. I do hold my tongue on the conversations we have but I am glad he gave some "small" insights on his GT discussions.

He is just what Drad wanted, he just can't seem to see it. Remove the scales Dan and let's get this thing started!!!!

I listened to the interview & was pretty impressed. I wish he was being considered as a (maybe he is more than we know on the outside looking in) candidate....I would love to have him on the Flats in some fashion other than in the stands as a fan...but as OC or HC...something SIGN THE MAN UP

He's got:

Energy
Charisma
Football savy
Fan appeal
Youth
Winning past
Exciting offense
SE recruiting ties

Who else comes close to having all of this?

But, not much can be done if they can't see it...

My wish list...

This we know:

1. UGA opens with GSU
2. UGA closes with GT

Would love to see DRad have the balls to:

1. Fill the Army game slot with GSU

This will help clear things up.

It'll get interesting fast when CH hangs 35 on UGA in athens to open the season.

what a shame it would be to pass on Hatcher only to have him beat Richt in Athens & we look back on what could have been

Hey GT92...I don't know about you, but I'm thinking that if we don't hire him, he'll be beating us to death somewhere else pretty soon. I'd love to know what Rad thinks about Hatcher...I just don't see how Rad wouldn't be impressed after sitting down with CH for 30 min...I think it's impossible not to be.

Hatcher said in his interview a few minutes ago on 790 that more than half of their scholarship players next year will be true freshmen. If he can put up 35 on UG with mostly true freshmen, that would be unbelievable.

Agreed - In the beginning I thought getting him the interview would be the hard part, but was certain that if he got in the interview room that he'd definitely sell himself for the job. Don't know what happened there, but I feel pretty confident that it's no fault of his own (no "source" there, just my opinion). Perhaps preconceived notions of candidate qualities are just hard to overcome, i.e. "must have D1 experience".

I hope you forwarded this to Drad. Best written post for Hatcher yet.

mem...if it's a lack of D1 experience, then that's not good enough to keep him out, IMO. Yes, it's a chance, but candidates such as that can succeed.

I agree wholeheartedly, but if Johnson falls through and they hire Tenuta over him, it will be apparent that the powers-that-be don't see it that way.

...and it would also be apparent that the powers that be are retarded.

I thought Hatcher should our man from the beginning. If PJ can go 10-1 at Navy with the academic standards and limited recruiting there, he could probably go 9-2 or 8-3 consistantly at GT. I just look at the "young" and "dynamic" aspect of DRad's statement and think Hatcher would be the man!

Speaking of retarded people, I read in someone's column that the reason Grobe was not hired at Arkansas is because he didn't have enough "big-name" potential. He was thought to be lacking in the Shock and Awe department.

Personally, I think it had more to do with not wanting an ACC coach in the SEC.

Apparently, having a big name is more important than having "...crossed the Alps with a herd of elephants" on your resume.

I've been for Hatcher since firing day and I'm asking this question in all sincerity, not in some state of wishful thinking.

Do we know for sure that he's out?

I've heard that he interviewed and we didn't call back. I didn't hear the 790 interview today but my impression is that there was some non-denial denial there.

Do we have a source or something impeccable to say he's out?

Dem?

Its not like PJ and WM have all this great experience at the pinnacle of college football.

From what I heard yesterday from someone who communicated with Hatcher, he (CH) as of yesterday thought he was out. This could be because he has not been contacted since the call.

If I had to guess this interview served 2 purposes for Hatcher. Sell GSU and give GT another chance to hear him even though they didn't ask to. I would think his agent and GS SID both would have loved the interview.
