Have You Noticed How Appalled The TV Announcers Are

at how bad we look? Over the years I’ve watched bad Duke and Vanderbilt teams play on TV and the announcers don’t just ridicule the team. But last week the announcers were brutally critical of how bad we looked and justifiably so. College football fans and announcers in this area of the country know GT as a team to reckon with. It is a program that traditionally has a winning season and goes to a bowl, it is a program that has knocked off some highly ranked teams like Miami, Clemson, Auburn, & VT, and it is a program that’s had 8-11 win seasons and finished the season ranked every now and then.You’ve got to bring your A game when you play GT or you will get beat. Well … all of a sudden in a couple of short years the football program does not come close to resembling the football teams these TV announcers are used to seeing. It’s like who is this team that is wearing GT uniforms??? This is not GT football we’ve grown accustomed to seeing. I think these TV announcers are so shocked to see the product that CGC is putting on the field representing GT football that they can’t help being critical. The faster GT can separate themselves from CGC the better.

They also sit thru the weekday meetings with Collins leading up to the telecast. If he's as much of vague clown with no real game plan to them as he is during other public appearances, it's no surprise they rag on him/us during telecasts so much.
