Somewhat Tech related. This is truly Pulitzer Prize journalism, folks.

The home field advantage is an intangible that FSU will have to overcome at Maryland on Saturday. (Some superstitious folks at Maryland will tell you the team hasn't lost at Byrd since they painted those state flags in the end zones.) FSU is 2-1 in ACC road games this year, but would be 3-0 had it not been for their loss at Georgia Tech.

No $#!+ Heather! That's like saying Duke is undefeated this year if you throw out their games vs Northwestern, Ga Tech, Miami, Wake, NC State, and Clemson.

Amateur.

While that reporting would make Ric Romero proud, I think the point she was trying to illustrate was that their only road loss was against Georgia Tech.

That's just fantastic.

But if we win Thursday and she's writing a piece next Monday on how we proved that we're ready to go compete with Georgia and that we're the real deal, this forum will be up in arms defending her in spite of her perpetual offensively horrific writing.

I don't support Heather even if she loves us. She knows nothing about college football, and seems to hate the ACC with a passion. Not surprising since she is a Big Televen grad...

One look at her power rankings gives a fine indication of how little she knows. GT loses a close one, and falls 4 spots, and then wins a close one, and rises 4 spots. Agreed, ranking the ACC this year must have been hard, but the lack of logic in her changes was truly outstanding.

Really unfortunate (or is it by design) that ESPN picked her to cover us...

That speaks more to the ACC this year than it does to Heather herself. I'm pretty sure nobody on the planet could handicap the ACC properly this year, and I'm certainly glad it's not my job to do it.

am I allowed to make a humorous comment or would that be considered hijacking this thread?

How would you do the power rankings for the ACC this year? 1-10 can truly be in any order then Duke and NC State.

Well, yeah. Who believes in consistency of thought any more? You must be some sort of square oldster or something. Get with it - this is a new age of hope and change! That means you can say one thing today and completely contradict yourself tomorrow and nobody will care! Of course, a lot of that is because 80% of the population lacks the critical thinking skills to detect hypocrisy, which is a depressing fact, but what the heck?! Use it to your advantage.

"Offensively horrific writing?" You must be getting her blog confused with the stuff you read on StingTalk.

Found this gem on her blurb about our QB situation yesterday:

"If the Jackets are going to have a chance, they definitely will need Nesbitt."

If we can't block up front, I'm not sure it really matters who the quarterback is unless we figure out how to get a play off in .37 seconds.

I think we'll know what kind of evening we are going to have after the first series.

Startling insight reported by Chris Low re: coaches in waiting (Kentucky): "Brooks said it's an arrangement more and more schools will probably take advantage of if there's a coach on their staff they see as head-coaching material and don't want to lose him." http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec

A mindblowing observation from Tim Griffin: "Having two prolific weapons like Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree tends to overshadow almost every other element of Texas Tech's offensive arsenal." http://myespn.go.com/blogs/big12

This is sportswriting people, not political commentary or master's theses. There are plenty Mr. Captain Obviouses out there, but that fact probably doesn't occur to most of you when you're reading a manly man's column...

I had the weirdest freaking dream last night.

I dreamed that Heather Dinich read Stingtalk and got so pissy she quit her job.

Swear to god. Real dream.

I really hope that's all she did in your dream.

Signs of a Dinich crush.
