On the fumble ruled down in the Clemson game, notice the incredible lick put on the backup QB, helmet to helmet. No commentator mentioned it, no official flagged it. This is called so infrequently, I saw three calls of helmet to helmet this year. (Once in an ECU game, against us against Va Tech, against Gardner-Webb playing us).

Get rid of this rule. I see hard helmet to helmet hits not called in every game. Go back to spearing penalties and enforce it evenly.

I am tired of this being seldom called but costing us two important games in three years.

Totally agree--but for the VT call we would have been Orange Bowl bound. Some may call this "SOUR GRAPES"--I call it PISS POOR ref's!! It seems we get more than our share of "questionable calls"" each year. Some on this board do not like to refer to poor ref. calls--sorry--they REALLY chap my A**!!

I guess you're assuming we would have performed better in the ACCCG than we did in the Peach Bowl?

Apples and oranges (no pun intended) IMO. For one, we would be playing a Boston College team with their backup QB and just a week to prepare for us. Also, the whole "play for fun" mindset we seemed to have in preparation for the Chick-Fil-A would not apply here with a championship on the line.

LSU has as much talent as anyone we've faced and for maybe the second time this year they actually played up to their potential while we didn't appear ready to play at all. I don't think it's fair to say that we were going to play this bad in ANY game following the UGA win.

No, but after the way this game did play out, I think it's about time to stop whining about how ref calls from earlier this year held us back.
