What's your thoughts on the game tomorrow?

Is Jaybo nervous? If he bombs (unlikely IMO) can Josh play if necessary?

Is the D up to the task of covering those speedy (TIC) Dook receivers?

Where ya been?

Thanks in advance!

Good call. I just saw that myself. It seems like the onus is going to bee on the defense. But we're still going to have to hang onto the ball.

'Calling Coach Johnson!'

I think he'll bee there.

BayBay is a better receiver.

I bet #8 goes higher in the draft than Riley does....different NFL Drafts, I know.

I really don't see how Jaybo can bomb. Either you know how to run the option or you don't and he obviously does. If you are not having a good day throwing, then just keep running.

That's the beauty of the option. You can make it do whatever you are feeling like at the time.

I'm sure we still have a few back-breaking fumbles left this season but I think with Duke, we can recover. And apparently, the defense has been working on improving their 3rd down conversion rate (close to 50% - not very good).

So I look for a LOT of direct and indirect pressure on Thad. Since he's got feet, I expect we'll be bringing pressure from the sides to flush him towards the middle and into the waiting arms of our two bone-crushing DTs and the spine wrenching LBs right behind 'em.

By any measure other than "I believe" or "might" Riley is better.

I don't know if Riley's going to be drafted or not. Baybay .... love him but .... doubtful he plays a down on Sundays.

Riley is a Senior and BayBay is a Junior. Mark it down BayBay will be a very good NFL reciever. He is tall, has good hands, and will probably be the best blocking WR coming out of the draft that year.

How about by the measure of the circumstances? If Bay Bay were on Duke's team, he'd be the guy you'd be worried about. As it is, he's been on a team that threw the ball about as pitiful as you can get last year, and then this year ... well, you figure it out. And as previously stated, he's only a sophomore. He had the best freshman year last year of anyone at Tech outside of Calvin Johnson, and that was with the aforementioned shoddy passing offense.

I'll take that bet. He reminds me exactly of Dez White at this stage in his career.

Doesn't BayBay have roughly the same amount of TD's this year as he did all of last season?

Some Thoughts:

- I think Duke is much improved, you can never underestimate how important experience is and they definitely have experience. All these players have been playing for 2-3 years and its sort of the same as when Wake began to win at a high level. Now I don't think they have the players Wake had then but they do have some talented athletes.

- Lewis has had a nice year, we will get after him early and often. If Riley is out that is huge, we are expecting him to play though. I would be surprised if their running game does anything against us.

- I don't want to say there is an incentive to do well but there is some bad blood between some of our guys and some Duke players. Needless to say, I don't see this as a let down game, the guys are ready to take care of business. The players are more focused week in, week out more then I can every remember at GT and thats a credit to the staff.

- Another big recruiting weekend, approaching 80 recruits again.

- Jaybo is a good kid, he is very confident in his abilities and will tell you like it is. When I asked him this morning how he feels he said he was pumped but its gonna be tough to sleep tonight. He expects to be nervous but after the first snap should be fine. The coaches have all the confidence in him to get the job done. Josh is the #2 and says he will play if needed, not sure if the coaches would let him though, he ran pretty good yesterday he said.

- Look for a few new wrinkles this week, I also expect us to spread the ball around a lot like the Miss St game.

- Talked with Anthony Allen today and he said he absolutely cannot wait to suit up next season, he thinks him and JD will be one of the toughest 1-2 punches in the country to defend.

- Correy Earls seems excited to finally be ready to go, he was not sure how much he will actually see the field though. My guess is probably not much this week.

- Jefferson is getting close to ready, he told me he will be good for the GW game.

- AJ is out and could be done for good, its been a bumpy road for him these last couple years.

- I fully expect PJ to throw down the hammer on Duke, the guys are excited to get back out on the field after the off week.

DT will definitely get his shot at the NFL, most scouts who have been around here in the spring/summer are already talking about him. He is a physical specimen and has really improved, I would like to see us get him more involved because he is a very good receiver and made some outstanding catches during practices all spring and fall.

Why the bad blood between us and Duke?

It would bode well for recruiting if Thomas makes it to the NFL. Might be a bit easier getting big WRs to come here.

Kids talk and a lot of these guys know each other. Some of the Dukies think they are world beaters now because of their start and already seeing the offense against Navy. It has gotten the guys fired up.

I can't tell you how happy I am to read this.
