This bunch of Tech fans are getting like starving sharks in a small wading pool, waiting for someone to throw some food to them. Some have even starting turning on each other, so as soon as you have some good recruiting news, could you throw it out here for us. :laugher:

According to my finaguring we now have 38 days to go until we massacre the "Fish Folk" and then we have 122 days until we humilify the "K-9" kennel.

Of course we do expect to win all games coming up but these are the two that need to be addressed with a sense of vengance.

And to that I say:

YELLOWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Romegajacket,

I wish that I had some juicy tidbits for you to snack on. Things are kind of quiet at the moment. However, there are many stories that could break at any moment and I will tell you some things off the top of my head. As mentioned in another post, it is only a matter of time before players like A.J. Jenkins, Omoregie Uzzi, and Jon Lockhart make a decision. According to every source that I know, Jenkins made his decision during Tech’s camp and will be a Jacket as previously reported. I am not sure what the hold up is. I do know that he did receive an official offer at Florida’s Friday Night Lights camp. However, in a quote from an article after our July 7 camp, A.J. made clear his intentions, “We’re (A.J., Chris Jackson, Steven Sylvester, and Sean Renfree) trying to get like a little bond. We’re all going to commit here so we’re just trying to get a little friendship going on.” Though it appears that Florida whispered sweet nothings in A.J.’s ear and he definitely liked it, I still think that he will be a Jacket once the smoke clears.

All signs point to Uzzi being a Jacket as well. He will be making a trip to Athens tomorrow, but he seems really impressed with the loyalty that the Jackets have shown him. Also, I understand that he has scheduled a return visit to Tech this weekend. His former, and hopefully soon to be again, teammate Roddy Jones has been recruiting Uzzi hard this summer. Uzzi is also good friends with Tech commits, Chris Jackson and Steven Sylvester. I will be interested to see what comes out of the UGA visit. However, my gut is saying that Uzzi will commit to the Jackets this weekend. Again, this is just a gut feeling.

Lockhart seems extremely interested in Tech, but he wanted to check out Vandy before he made a decision. To my knowledge, he has not made that visit and we should hear something shortly after he does. I know that he likes Vandy a lot, but I would be pretty surprised if he did not wind up a Yellow Jacket.

Kenneth Page visited last weekend and all reports say that it went well. Page holds offers from some 30+ programs, but we are right there with him. It will be a while before we hear a decision from Mr. Page, but he is expected to cut his list dramatically very soon and believe that we will make the cut. I think that he may be one of those late season surprises. He seems to like Notre Dame and the South Carolina schools a lot, so you can bet that a great season and wins over Notre Dame and Clemson could pay big dividends when it is all said and done.

Brandon Thompson is another player that we are looking really solid with. As some may remember, Brandon was a finger snap away from committing to Clemson a couple of months ago. However, since our July camps, he appears to be genuinely interested in the Jackets. Though the Tigers are still one a top his list, the Jackets are right there and pushing hard. Brandon’s mom was able to accompany him on his last visit and she, in the words of Brandon, loved it. She met the entire coaching staff and she got a tour of the campus. She loved it." Mom does appear to have some influence on where Brandon will commit and though it is his decision to make, it sounds like we may have her in our back pocket.

off the top of my head....

Uzzi just said in an interview two days ago that he may not make a decision now until September...which was surprising as we feel he as close to a GT commitment as you can get. The problem is he feels obligated to Coach London at UVA to at least give them a look since they were the first to offer and he talks to him every week. However, he was not able to visit unofficially this summer...so he may take an offical there. I do not think this will change the ending...just the timeframe on a commitment possibly.

Things look great with Brandon Thompson...he and his mom love GT. He is the top DL on the board...and we may get him before the end of August.

Correct on Lockhart...we could hear something any day. He is a strong CB with an amazing 41" vertical and clocked an official 4.53 on a watch...probably translates to 4.4 in self-reported times.

We have one LB spot left and both Chase Thomas and TJ Pridemore are liking GT and are close. It will be something that is interesting to watch play itself out. However, we will hold a spot for Etienne Sabino as long as he wants. He is a blue-chip athlete that you take no matter what...and he will decide this fall so he can enroll January.

DE's Kaleb Ramsey (PA) and William Green (AL) both had great unofficial visits over the past 10 days.

As was said, AJ Jenkins will publicly announce to GT in the next few weeks.

I would not be surprised to see TE Mike Triglia of The Bolles School in Jax, FL commit to us in August. The video on him is impressive catching, running, and blocking.

There are a lot of different people we are involved with at the safety and CB positions right now...so I will not even bother listing them out.

Matt Roark is being recruited as an athlete and had a solid unofficial visit...he may wait until fall to decide though and has strong Kentucky connections.

We are putting in a big push for superstar OL's like Kenneth Page, Preston Bailey, and Gregory Shaw. These will all take awhile to play out...but I know that Preston Bailey is looked at as a perfect fit with GT...kind of like a Daryl Richard student-athlete.

Cooper Taylor has committed to Tech according to the AJC online.

Apparently, he still has to close the deal with the Tech coaching staff though.

Yeah, I had a message on my phone this morning about Cooper. That is awesome to hear.

I hope that we continue to go after the other safeties on the board. Good safeties tend to be versatile athletes i.e. Cooper Taylor S/OLB/WR, Brandon Leslie S/CB, Kameron Riley, etc. I have also heard that we have made some good headway with Keanon Cooper and that Carlton Lewis also seemed excited about his recent offer.

Leather, since you were the first to break the good news, would you mind starting a new thread on Cooper.

That is versatile if you can play Safety WR and the O Line - especially at 180lbs.

By the way, I'm assuming he has not been evaluated yet since he's only 1 star at the moment. Anyone have any idea what he will be at once all is said and done? He had offers from Auburn and Alabama.

Glad we grabbed another in-state.

Yep...he is that good...and he plays tackle too...none of that guard or center stuff :p
