went to see Savannah Christian last night and one of the stars of the game was the SCPS kicker who is reportedly being recruited by Tech. Last name is Chumley and he is a coach’s son. All kickoffs we’re out the back of the end zone. PATs were way over the net and out of the stadium, and the one punt I saw went sky high in a tight spiral.

A funny story told by one of the parents: kid asked his dad if it would be ok with him if he went to Tech. His dad played at Georgia. His dad reportedly said “if you want to go play football at Tech I’ll drive the Ramblin Wreck myself.”

Also - when I say kickoffs were out of the back of the end zone, I mean that a few went over the chain link fence separating the field area from the sidewalks.

trying to remember the last time we had a player that did both place kicking and punting
 
Coach Chumley was my high school PE Coach. Always thought he was hilarious. Still see him around from time to time. Helluva guy. Would love to see his son come to Tech.

He retired from coaching last year. Last night they had a ceremony to honor him for 14 years at Savannah Christian and a state title and another title game appearance.
 
Game I went to last night, gt commit Jordan huff looked really good. Scampered 47 yards on a quick pass with 6 seconds left to get his team close enough to tie.
