Since you are always good at the scholarship #'s....How many will we have to give out this next year? Best and worse case scenario now that the judgement has been handed down.

Well...everyone was really hoping the NCAA would meet half way with 3 losses instead of 6. It amazes me that Alabama lost 7 for all of the crooked crap they pulled and we get a number that close to theirs. I guess I need to get over it and move on...everyone else has.

In regards to this year, we have 77 on scholarship (players that typically renew each year...not walk-on's) and 11 seniors. That would be 13 to give.

From what I understand, Joe Gaston is returning for his 5th year.

The coaches from what I understand are preparing for 17 scholarships, assuming we lose 4 to injuries, grades, other transfers, etc...which is about typical. We can all figure out without typing it out who the frequent injury cases are, and probably even who struggles academically.

This could prevent some of the local kids who want to commit from getting offers until summer after camps.

17 is the number I came up with after looking at the spring roster. That number is based on Durant Brooks not having a schollie and David Jordan not being in school.

some of the coaches believe the number could go as high as 20.

As far as Durant Brooks goes, the policy has always been that you get a schollie if you win a starting position, which he will. Of course, Dan Dyke stayed on academic schollie instead, and I am not aware of Durant's deal.

Of course, Calvin Booker is just a walk on and will remain one unless he wins a starting job.

There are 5 players with frequent injuries, and about 3 that struggle academically. One guy is in both groups from what I understand.
