Holding call on Clemson with about 3

minutes left. They completed a pass to inside our 10 yrd line and were called for what appeared to be a bad holding call. Without that call I don't believe we win the game.

I seem to think if Clemson actually kicks that Fake FG/ pooch punt out of bounds. They would have won the game.

Yes, the clemson board is chocking this one up as stolen by the zebras, too. Do you remember the makeup phantom holding call against Cord on our final drive? The difference is we were able to overcome the bad call and they weren't.

You want to get into bad calls how about the late hit call on Morgan Burnett. That ref had absolutely no visibility on what went on out of bounds...

That penalty is going to ruin the validity of some wins this year. I've watched 5 games and in every one of them I've seen a late hit call that shouldn't have been. The refs are way to quick to call that one. Someone needs to tell them to calm down.

Exactly. According to some of them, though, our holding call came on a play that was "like 4 yards" (even though it was 2nd & 6 and the play resulted in a 1st down).

Guys, the calls last night came out to a wash IMO.

Clemson got a very, very questionable call on the unnecessary roughness on Spiller when Burnett (or Reese) didn't even have their hands on him out of bounds, they both just fell.

Then as dressedchessside said above, the very next drive there was a holding call on GT.

Clemson doesn't get this call, they don't score a touchdown on that drive, and they don't get all the momentum. The holding call on them was at least debateable. The make up call on us was completely atrocious.

Plus, I do not remember which series it was, but there was one series where Clemson had it on its own 20 or so, and was third down -- and they completed the pass to our sideline for the first down. Well, Morgan ran around his guy and flushed Parker on the play -- and our DT was held from hitting him. And there was no call on the play -- it was clear on the jumbotron. I think the next set of plays had the pass to Jacoby Ford for the TD, if I remember the game correctly.

Also there was another no-call right in front of me with a pass interference. Guy had his left arm around the back of Be Be and stripped the ball from him catching it--and since that was in front of me, that was on the 15 or so. Easily seen on the jumbotron.

I just watched the replay, it looked like the rush was getting by the Clemson lineman and he grabbed the rusher's jersey for a second to throw him down. I could see it go either way.

Btw, it was not inside 10 yard line, but I think it was inside 20 yard line.

And to add, they called holding on us in the ensuing drive when our defender pushed their rusher on the ground. The first comment by ESPN 'oh that's a bad call' 'oh that must be a make up call'. And guess what, we overcome that, they didn't.

Holding was ridiculous all around last night. Do refs have this as a point of non-emphasis this year? Seems theres been a whole lot of it in every game I've watched.

The ref seemed to have thrown the flag immediately after the snap of the ball and then the replay showed what looked like a WWE takedown in the middle of the line. I need to see it again, but this may have been anything but a bad call.

The crew though did appear to be very ACCish. Surely we can hire more former ballplayers who have been in big time environments to officiate. This may be the biggest difference with SEC officials.

I'm impressed you waited 6 years to have this be your first post.

Well played sir.

I really liked the interference call against Clemson on the punt return. TV replay showed JT wasn't even touched. All in all, the refs are horrible. I think their emphasis is on the entirely wrong things.

"MrTech"... how original. Much smarter than calling yourself "Imnotatigerindisguise"

Doesn't matter - you don't have to touch the kick receiver, you only have to get too close and "impede" him to violate the rule.

Needs to be reviewable. No reason you can't review late hit OOB.

The holding call against Clemson negating their big pass play was clearly the biggest flag of the game. I think the refs blew it on that one, and I think it changed the complexion of the game.

If I was a Clemson fan, I'd be mad as hell. I'd also be 30 lbs. heavier and have a moustache.

Yep. Even the TV announcers said the call on Cord was a makeup call. The replay showed it didn't even resemble a hold.

There were a lot of bad calls...both ways. I'm just glad we were the one with the win in a game that could have gone the other way. We'll know more after some more games, but we may have already played our toughest team. Clemson has some really great players.
