So I noticed this rather strange site from my seats Saturday. Any reason the UVa O Lineman would be holding the hand of a coach for multiple plays? Is there something more to this I am missing or is he just another cocktail sword Hoo player?

Coach was keeping him safe until one of the trainers got there with some Play-doh

This may sound crazy, but I wonder if 74 was their starting center or left guard?

I noticed before every play the left guard would lean over and tap the center or seem to say something to him. Made me wonder if the center had a hearing problem (deaf) or a visual problem.

I remember in the 91 Citrus bowl Nebraska had a deaf player that an asst coach or trainer would use ASL to signal in calls to the player.

They tap asses for a different reason.

If the C was new to the position, possibly the LG was telling the C the defensive alignment or a post-huddle play call that the C didn't have the experience to figure out on his own.
