Reminds you of all of the families involved when something like this happens. It will come off as sower grapes but I believe Saban is a crook.

Wow --a really good call on so many different levels. She was fairly calm and collected, offered insight to how the coaches were not informed, the mindset of uneasiness that the axe could fall on this regime at any time, some inside the AU program has wanted Tuberville out from the get-go.

Loved the Saban comment.

I was way too young at the time. Didn't Pepper find out he was fired in a similar manner?

As a purely fluke happenstance inside observer of the Auburn athletic department over a several year period, I witnessed and was flabbergasted at the degree of politics, personal manipulation and power play culture that permeates their programs to the core. At the root of the ongoing fiasco is AU trustee Bobby Lowder, now in ( I believe) his 25th year on the board, having been appointed by AL Gov. George Wallace in 1983. To put it simply, Auburn has just about become one man's personal fiefdom and his influence on Auburn football in particular is absolutely unsurpassed by any other booster in NCAA college sports. It's no surprise that he can get a football coach fired because he "reportedly" did the same thing to former AU Presidents and AD's.

As upsetting as the two coaches' wives calls were, they are nothing but another manifestation of what has unbelievably become "business as usual" there.

If anyone wants to read an eyeful about probably the only situation of it's kind in the US today, just google Bobby Lowder and check out some of the stories (espn material is the best place to start).

Mainly, it makes me loathe Saban all the more. I hope he and Bama get caught and that their program is terminated for good.

he does it....the day he took the job and went after our recruits (with geoff collins) I heard rumors of dirty recruiting.

Yippeeee- a full BROADSIDE fired at both programs--maybe it'LL starts leaks that'll sink both their ships--I hate both teams--you could take a CSI team into their programs and never find a HINT of class!

Anybody still worried about Auburn going after CPJ? I think coaches are starting to realize what a huge zoo it's become.

I hope Amy and her family get some of that 6mil that Tommy got to leave the job.

It is a sad situation and there are many out of job and headed that way

No.

CPJ has year one of his system in place at a school that LOVES him. He also has the skill players to really do big things offensively for the next couple of years.

Why would he leave that just to go to AU and deal with the pressure AND have to be judged by Saban, Meyer, Miles, and other coaches performance?
