I work with a whole bunch of GT Alums and have gotten mixed reactions to this season. I know most of you do not care what a UGA fan has to say but up to this game I thought CG had done a good to fairly-good job this year with all things considered (injuries, 1st year, etc..). After this weeks dismal performance by your team though I question his leadership and coaching abilities. I do think that you meet up to a superior team but not as bad as the score showed. Just my thoughts.

Yes, but you need that to have the type of year you guys are having. You played your best game of the year on Saturday, nothing more and no luck was needed.

Did you watch the Auburn game?

4th and 15 hail mary?

all those turnovers that helped you at the beginning

No, you are right clearly Uga is the best team in the country this year

You are not 'just' lucky but you have had more than your fair share of luck or good breaks this years. You had 6 games that came down to the final possesion and you won 5 of them. You certaintly didn't need any luck against us though, if that is what you are trying to imply.

Georgia is very, very lucky.....that they didn't hire Chan Gailey!!!!!

Hey Lawbee,

I guess those engineering classes in fluids and Econ didn't teach you to read. Where did I state that we were the best team in the country? Maybe you're just a blind-loyalist (which isn't all bad) and cannot realize that your football program is soon headed in a vacuum while UGA returns to the way it was 20 years ago. I'll admit that all things that deal with the NCAA seem to run in cycles and your cycle of mediocrity is about to stoop to even lower lows while UGA’s typical level of 8-3 mediocrity is about to be replaced with 0-2 loss seasons.

dogworking: before you break out the champagne remember the way you "were" 20 years ago was achieved by breaking the rules and soon landed you on probation.

to answer your question, the puppies were lucky several times this year and i think even you would admit that. unfortnately we did not require you to use any more of it last Saturday.

Your point #6 is sooooo correct. Notice all the nice new shiny UGA crap showing up on peoples cars these days. Fairweather dipshits.

ANY team that gets to 11 - 1 has to have some luck, or should I say absence of bad luck. This mainly applies to injuries. There are those who might say the usc game was luck but who knows. Your record is what it is.

Lol dogworking... you're right NCAA football is cyclical. Your spiral to football footnotes should continue when your placed on probation yet again.

Your conference is down this year. You guys won it by default. The SECheat will be lucky to have two teams finish in the top 15 and heck FSU (your supposed bowl opponent) just beat the crap out of the team that punked the puppies this year.

Looking forward to the offseason arrests, ncaa probes, and academic fraud that the UGAg program perpetuates.

Damn right your lucky. And beating Tech doesn't prove your not - I wouldn't use Tech coached by Chan Gailey as a barometer of how good you or anyone else is. All top teams get lucky along the way, but Georgia has more than their share. Enjoy it while you can, because it will be another 30 years before you get where you are again. Next year Alabama, Tennessee and the rest will be back.

I'll summarize what has and will continue to be beaten into the ground:

1. Ugag takes honors as being the luckiest team in college football for the 2002-2003 season. For those that think differently, all you see are the results.

2. Is Ugag better than GT? Yes, this year the Ugag football team was better than GT.

3. 51-7 better? This will always be debatable...the Ugag faithful will ALWAYS have this to rub our noses in, whereas the Tech faithful will wonder how our team couldn't be ready to play a rival, in addition to other things.

4. Obvious observations:
The GT offense is just horrible, especially without a running game. Play calling is horrific. We had 2 plays that worked all day...the slant pass across the middle, yet we continue to try to throw outs.
The GT defense was exposed for what it is.
The GT team as a whole has to get much stronger on both sides of the line, or else they'll get man handled over and over again.

5. The Ugag 20 year plan is finally "paying" off.

6. The dawgnation always refers to Tech fans as insects, etc. However, the evolution of the dawgnation more closely resembles the characteristics of a termite colony. When the going appears to be favorable for them, they rear their pesky, problematic selves by literally coming out of the wood work. There seem to be more than we ever thought there could be. They're a problem for awhile, usually appearing in multiple places, but just when they think they gotcha, they are put back in their rightful place, the subterranean habitat they call home, or are just eradicated. The colony goes back into hiding and they aren't heard from again for a long time.

To answer the question posed by this thread..

HELL YES.. Georgia has been lucky this year...

Let me see:

Clemson cant kick a field goal

SC cant run a sweep

Tenn starts subs on the OL and QB

Alabama loses its backfield.

Florida makes a ton of mistakes, eliminating a sure blowout

Tech doesnt show up at Sanford.

An Arkansas team that cant throw a pass becomes the opponent in the SEC Champ game...

Sounds like luck to me...

1) 11-1 is not luck dogworking. If Terrence Edwards had not dropped that pass and George Foster thought he was in the old WWF you probably would have won the Florida game also. 2) If we could rid ourselves one way or another of Coach Gailey and snagged Coach Brian Van Gorder for Tech before someone else then our fortunes could do a complete reversal because that Defence is the reason you are 11-1. 3) Intangibles are a huge part of football. Georgia has the Intangibles needed for a winning team. Leadership from Coach Richt and Coach Van Gorder has been the diffence from the Donnan and Goff years.
