We will stop drinking the gold cool ade and realize we are not very good. Offense, defense and special teams. We don't suck but we ain't good.

8 wins maybe but that's pushing it.\

Nothing like a good ass whippin' on Homecoming to wake you up!

I've been praying for 8 win seasons the last 5 years (barring one season in which we had the best player ever to play for our school) and suddenly it ain't good. That's still kool-aide drinking JD.

Who pissed off Peerman? It was like Sean Glennon when we stole his jersey last year.

I started the season thinking eight wins would make a good season. After last weekend I starting looking ahead to the possibilities that could lie ahead.

Reality came to me today somewhere in the third quarter. We have a fairly good football team with some holes that need to be filled in order to become a consistent good football team. We need depth and we need more team speed --it's going to take a couple of years to fill the cubbard with CPJ-type football players.

It will come. Give it time. Eight wins will make for a pretty good year.

After all the formations, x's and o's are drawn, the game of football still comes down to blocking and tackling. If you don't do it, you lose.

If I could sign on a dotted line for an 8 win season today, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm worried we don't make 7.

before the season a lot of people would've been ecstatic at the thought of a bowl-eligible 6 win season.

I'll continue to drink the kool-aid but will accept the fact that it might give me a big hangover.

I prefer to expect big and get disappointed rather than expect nothing just to avoid disappointment.

Its a tougher road but nobody is twisting my arm.

This loss hurts, especially because it was such a huge opportunity to take the lead in the Coastal. I don't think we're any worse than I thought we were last week, but I was hoping the breaks would go our way and we could win 3 or 4 of our last 5. Now the season looks completely different and the next 4 games look tougher. Just getting to a Gailey-like 7-5 is questionable. The important thing is to not get too down this week, and hang in there if we lose to FSU. The character of this team (and the fans) will be tested from here on out.

man im telling you guys-- we can beat FSU. This loss is just what we needed. Playing for our freakin lives. I bet you will see our boys come out for some serious redemtion on Saturday. Both UVA and VA tech could lose that day as well. UVA is due for a let down ( miami will come out strong) ( Va Tech wont have atleast one of their Qb's) were alright if we can get the last 3-- it's do-able

not to mention how FSU will be ranked and we won't be now! Valid reason for field storming!

Nope. Field storming is out of the question now, at least for me. If yall want to celebrate firmly establishing ourselves in the middle of the ACC, be my guest.

Next week can't come soon enough. Morning after... this loss hurts worse than it did, yesterday. We were outclassed.

I have a high amount of respect for Peerman. Their passing game was Friedgen-esque. It seemed like they were honed in on that first-down marker. They didn't punt in the first half.

On the other hand, we had no passion. It was like we were spent. Do we need another bye? Did kicking the opening kickoff out of bounds kill our D? They never looked right.

Lastly, we lost on our own accord, but the no holding calls didn't help our d-line's resolve.

I'm back to my 7 win prediction. We got 4 tough games ahead. Remember that our O line will get beat up by FSU and UM so even if those teams aren't very good they will be very tough games.

I noticed that Claytor was playing yesterday. Was this his first game? Its late in the season now but in hindsight I wonder if we should have burned McRae's redshirt to play him at center.

UVa is a good team though. They have monster line talent. They are very young but as the season has progressed, they improve greatly each week. Guess who sits atop the Coastal division this morning?

Back to Earth is how I see it, too. Did we really think we were good enough to go BCS? This program obviously has a ways to go yet.

(shotgun ain't gonna happen. you can get over that)

and yet...take away the fumble inside the 10 and we could have won the game. We aren't a great team by any stretch, but we can still win against almost anybody. It's still about execution, primarily at QB and OL.

I think we need 8 wins to be bowl eligable, not sure.

My hope at beginning of season was to have a team show great improvement from beginning to end. And to kick ugag's tooth.

That can still happen.

rankings/acccg/bowls should be secondary. We as a fan base are too reactionary to these things instead of focusing on a much bigger issue.

We will beat fsu.
