Their contracts expire on the same day. Good job Braine, good job.

Not only that, Nutt has a higher winning percentage than Gailey.

Am I the only one that thinks Braine is undeserving of his last name unless he was named Lackuv, middle initial A?

Houston Nutt 70-48 (59.3%)
Chan Gailey 41-30 (57.8%)

Not exactly a statistically relevant difference in winning percentage.

There are also major consistency issues with Nutt when he followed two 9-win seasons with consecutive losing seasons in 2004-5 (5-6) and 2005-06 (4-7). Those were his 7th and 8th seasons as head coach at Arkansas.

The difference between what the two coaches are worth is a lot more than $3 mil. I read both Tech and Arkansas boards a lot and follow both teams since I grew up in AR and went to Tech. I find it hilarious how on occasion each fan base points to the other coach as doing something at a place where not a lot is expected while they look at their own situation as a slumbering football power where "mediocrity should not be accepted". Nobody at Arkansas even has Tech on the radar as a program that will ever be notable and nobody at Tech ever notices Arkansas. Noy only that, the fans have the same list of prospective coaches who would be able to come in and save the day (along with about 40 other programs I don't follow).

Gailey will never be an embarassment to Tech like Nutt is to Arkansas. He'll never be an embarrassment to Tech like O'Leary ended up being.

Haha, awesome.
