This will be the first of many quotes over the weekend:

Who said the following?

On Being an Underdog: " Somebody is the favorite and somebody is the underdog each week. It's good to be one or the other."

Gnome, Strictly a guess, but if Coach Bill Peterson or Yogi Berra didn't say it, they both should have.

Kind of a cloudy memory for an OF, but, seems like we once had the "Micro-Chip" backfield. I know one, but who can name the rest?

John McKay might have said it. He was pretty funny. Bill Peterson was a good guess, too.

The micro chip backfield was Malcolm King, Corey Collier and Jery Mays wasn't it?

Ahhh, thank you wrecked. Loved Jerry Mays(just wondered why we did not get more recruits from NE Georgia after him?) Malcolm King and Corey Collier stir my heart as I see their names once again. Mostly no TV or opportunity to attend games in those days.....but loved Tech with all my heart.
Those were, for me such innocent days. Kind of a contrast re: today: Not getting into controversial pushes/pulls about the coaching staff, etc. Guess I was just naiive (sp) or "nave" (Barney Fife) , without knowledge of anything behind the scenes. Just an all supporting Tech fan.
Not "swave" (Gomer Pyle) as I am today. Shoot, I enjoyed it more then to be honest.
All I can remember for sure: I did love those three guys. But one thing remains: I lived and died with Georgia Tech's success!!!!! Thanks again!!!!!!! and..................JACKETS RULE!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, Gnome: Quit teasing: I for one give up. If you will not give the answer on the board, at least email it to me......Thanks

The Answer is.................Chan Gailey, last year at the press conference before the NC State game, but I like the guesses.

techsamillion,

I appreciate your post re: things seemed to be more fun when we were more naive.

It seems that it was more fun when it was more simple. Or maybe 'it" wasn't more simple, but I was.

Glad I could help refresh your memory. Mine needs a jump start now and again also.

Gnome, that is REALLY funny. Plaudits for a good job of stumping the panel and for the surprise of who it was. Hey, that is a funny line from Coach.
It brings to mind that the two I guessed were very successful and much loved individuals.....I just hope it eventually carries over to Coach Gailey. If we can win some games I think it might. Thanks again.
