Current recruiting rankings on Scout:

1) Texas
2) Florida
3) Georgia
4) Georgia Tech

I'm sure we won't stay at #4 since we will have a smaller group than most and teams like USC haven't gotten all theirs yet, but it's still exciting to see the talent that Chan and his staff have assembled.

Not to say recruiting ranking is everything, but we clearly have some studs ready to join the team. Also per several posters both here and on the Hive, most of the commits will be on campus this weekend taking their official visits together.

further evidence that we are heading in the right direction

Exactly. Recruiting is the basis for building a winning, prestigous program. With being number 4, I would say that we are building the foundation of a soon to be powerhouse program and that is indeed heading in the right direction.

It's nice to see something not completely focused on how the program is in shambles under Chan Gailey all because we lost two games to fairly good teams by a grand total of six points.

Fairly good teams???

You really mean that?
So you are saying that Wake is a bad team despite their 11-2 record?
And here you go again hijacking a positive thread with your blantant and everlasting negativity.

C'mon gator! You seem to be doing a lot of piling on these days, without much addition.
Even the downtrodden bring a new negative thought to the fight!

Step up. How do WE win the Gator Bowl?

UGA is down this year but we caught them at a time when their freshman QB was playing their best. When they are playing well, they are tough to beat. It's not as if they don't have talent.

Fans of ACC teams have underestimated Wake all year long only to see their team lose to them. They aren't great but they've done what it takes to win.

My question to you: how many good teams do you think there are in college football? 5? 6? Just Ohio State??

We win the Gator Bowl with the Defense's best effort of the season. WVU is an offensive machine and they will rout us if the D is any bit off. If our D can hold WVU under 28 points, I feel that we can win. Now then with the D taking care of business we cannot afford poor QB play, therefore TB should either start or should come in after RB shows any signs of laying eggs. With an offense led by an efficient (not necessarily great) QB, we can score over 28. So the D needs to hold WVU under 28 and the O needs an efficient (again not necessarily great) QB at the helm. With an efficent offense, we can go over 28 which is the magic number: the D needs to hold WVU under it the O needs to score over it.

I think 28 is way too big a number. I know their qb (White) was hurt, but S Florida figured out a way to shut them down. We do too.

The fact that their pass D is in the 100's, we should be able to score. If RB does not start out well, I will stop watching if the changes are not made. I am not on the fence anymore about CCG. I am on the fence about letting him go, due to the personnell and recruiting that is taking place. Improve on QB development and all is well.

After watching Tech football for the past 3 years, I can say with 100% certainty that our success or failure in the passing game is completely independent of how good the other team's pass defense is. It's almost entirely due to our ability to make plays, and to screw them up.

If their run defense was bad, then that'd bode well for us. We can make any pass defense look horrid, and can also make any pass defense look great.
