How about this guy?

That is the kind of FIRE,we desperately need, i like him.

Why don't we see if we can hire Bobo as our OC too?

No thanks to any Dawg from me.

You got to be kidding.

Low class.

Coordinator...maybe.
The Man...no way.

Low class? Because he said motherfu**ers? Joking right? How many time have you said that? He didn't know they were gonna have a mike trained on him! Playing basketball I've been coached by and met some greats at different HS camps when I was younger... Bobby Knight, Coach K (yep!), and countless others... And, they ALL use curse words... I'd say like 95%. I bet the same goes with football...

You can't teach people to have fire...

1) I have never said it. That is beyond cursing....that is demeaning and disrespectful of the opponent.
2) I have tons of fire...I am type A all the way.

You do not see Tony Dungy running up and down the field calling his opponent that.

I wouldn't call him low class, but the head coach just can't act like that. Your coordinators can be all fired up and intense like that, but your head coach needs to be the definitive leader, collected.

My vote is Randy Edsell.

better said...i agree with you.

I like Edsall.

Well, Edsall is proven and Muschamp isnt, thats an advantage. Either is better than what we have, as far as the language, have you ever heard JT. We need a coach not a chaplain.

are u friggin serious??

that gets me fired up everytime i watch it. this isn't junior church little league football, it's D1.

that is in NO WAY demeaning to the other team, not even close. he's talking to his players!

i hope our entire fan base isn't this soft. geez
somebody needs to fire u up

Jon Bunting had lots of fire too. It didn't translate to any wins.

JT cannot snag a HC job because he does not know how to behave himself.

so if you say mother f***r.....that makes you a good coach?

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

i could care less if he's drops the F-bomb once in a while as long as it's not during an interview or for an in-home with a recruit.

I would take Muschamp in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the UGA to the core connection... hell, he may not even want the job b/c of that.

I am not so much talking about the colorful choice of words as the timing, location, etc. of it.

There have been scads of great defensive coordinators over the years that were rough around the edges and would not be head coaches...Joe Lee Dunn is one.

You would never see Bobby Ross running up and down the field screaming that....heck...not even O'Leary in the public domain. On the practice field it was another story. Bobby Dodd and Bill Curry did not carry themselves that way either.

There are funny stories though about Mark Price getting Bobby Cremins to clean up a bit...Danny Wuerffel did the same to Spurrier at Florida.

Randy Edsall has plenty of fire and passion...and he will yell and scream...but also be more aware of his position as the leader and head man of our program and institute that represents something more than football.

Regardless of what happens with Chan...I will always respect him for the fact that he ran a competitive and clean program where we could wake up in the morning and open the paper without fear that a player assaulted someone outside a bar at 2am in the morning.

I agree he ran a clean program but that is way beyond the coaches control - you may wake up to that news tomorrow and it will be beyond Chan's control. We did have a player arrested with 100lbs of pot, lest we forget.

true as far as isolated instance. But the leader of any organization (athletics, school, church, business, etc.) sets a culture in place of what behavior is rewarded and what behavior is frowned upon. This leader puts people in their organization that will fit the culture...or be able to adapt to that culture.

There is a reason why some schools have 4-8 off-field instances each year...and some have zero to one.
