How are we going to mix it up this week?

In our last 2 victories, PJ mixed it up with success right out the box. Came out with reverse pass, reverse, WR screen against Miami. Threw the wheel route to JD against FSU.

In the loss to UNC we were very vanilla out the box.

UVA started well with the sweeps and a nice pass to Bebe, but the offense beat itself with turnovers.

The question is HOW DO WE MIX IT UP this week? What can PJ do to get UGA on tilt. Whenever we get the opposition on tilt then the triple option starts to roll like it did against Miami, MSU, and pre-Josh-injury FSU.

I expect the playbook to be wide, wide open this week.

There are still some variations of the trip-O we have not ran this year (Watch GSU highlights). I don't know if CPJ is saving them for the last few games or if we're just not ready to run them yet.
I do think we will see some new wrinkles and maybe a trick play or two.

We will do what we did last week at least formation wise. We ran alot of different formations which put them into difficult coverage. Though honestly if we block like we did last week it will not matter.

Look for passes to Bebe if he is one on one on the outside. He needs to hang on though.

We will get our plus 300 yards rushing and have over 400 yards in offense.

CPJ said in his weekly radio show last week that he was going to run some plays with "wrinkles" against Miami. Considering that our team's top goal for this year was to beat U(sic)GA, I wouldn't be surprised if CPJ had some more "wrinkles" for this Saturday.

The good thing about the wrinkles in the Miami game (and it was the most we've seen all year) is that it gives Georgia more to work on and more worry about. Especially since they worked.

I'm waiting for us to get into a 4th down scenario and bust out the "lets hope they jump offsides" play, but actually do something out of it.

That's good to know. I don't have GSU highlights to watch, so can you give us an idea?

The only problem s running something new without game speed experience or sufficient practice could spell trouble. I wonder if all the practice time lost at the QB position due to injury comes into play?

Thinking the same thing. Lull them to sleep on it ALL season and then bust a huge pass to someone streaking all alone.

Booker to start the game with a drop-back passing attack

Then switch to the GT3O with Nesbitt

Then, when up by 24 points in the 4th, have Michael Johnson come into the O as the QB and run QB draw the rest of the game...

As long as CPJ doesn't pull some **** like an unsuccessful onside kick, then I will be fine.

But in answer to your original question, I am not mixing anything but Glen Livet and ice this Saturday.

Rewatching that game, that was a great onside kick. Blair just needed to get more air on it. There were like 3 Tech guys behind the Miami fellow who caught it, and if it was a foot or 2 higher, we would have got the ball.

I cant access Youtube at work to link, sorry. However, off the top of my head....

- the Adrian Peterson run in the NC game vs YSU. It was a counter option play. The only counter options we have run this year are with the B-Back as pitch. This counter option has a dive read to the B-back. I have not seen us run this yet.

- QB sweep...maybe its to protect Nesbitt. Its looks the same as our normal toss sweep, but instead of QB pitching, QB just runs it. It gives an extra blocker. I doubt we see this play until we can go 3 deep at QB without much dropoff.

- A lot of 3 step drop off the option play fake. Maybe its because we cant block for it yet. We do more sprint out and straight 3 step drop while GSU/Navy threw a lot of the option fake.

5-wide, baby, 5-wide. The entire 2nd quarter.

Well, maybe not that, but I'd be surprised if we didn't see some real new stuff this week. Seems like we've been rolling out some new plays each week. How long have we been doing those tosses to Thomas like we saw against Miami? I think I remember seeing a play like that against UNC.

Thanks.

I've been waiting for something like this all year. Ralph Friedgen, when he was at Tech, was the master at pulling this out at the right time.

Fake the dive, QB down the line on an option....drop back to pass to the play side A back who faked a block or backside WR.

If we run this about midfield on a 1st and 10 its a touchdown.

I have a theory that if we're in 4 and very short at mid-field, we'll line up and start a hard count like we're going for an offsides play, but on the 3rd or 4th hard count we'll actually snap the ball and run a play.

He's been setting it up all year.
