How come Aub's #25 & GT's #38 in AP?

How come Aub\'s #25 & GT\'s #38 in AP?

I'm basing Tech's ranking on the total votes for teams in AP poll. GT was the 13th top vote getter after top25.
Auburn & Ga Tech have played a similar schedule, with similar results, so the question came to mind of why Aub is ranked 13 places beyond GT? Aub lost @ SCal 24-17, GT lost @ Clem 24-19. Aub beat Vandy @ home 31-6, GT beat Vandy @ home 45-3. Aub beat WCar @ home 56-0, GT beat BYU @ home 28-19. Aub won @ Ms St 42-14, GT won @ UConn 31-14.
Well it certainly ain't the scores or the amount of travel or the quality of teams played. It ain't an explosive offense or a tenacious defense. It ain't a superior Head Coach or coaching staff. It AIN'T TV appearances. It AIN'T consecutive Bowl games streak. So what is it? Is it SEC bias? Is it fan base? alumni? stadium? what? what makes the writers feel an Aub-Tech game would be as big a mismatch as Aub playing the #12 team in the country?
The more national attention a program gets, yes even the national rankings each week, the better a program looks to prospective players & sport enthusiastic students & fans. Auburn certainly doesn't deserve #25 more than Ga Tech does.

Because aub puts more A$$'s in the seats. Polls are name familiarity contests. Names are ranked, not teams.

Disagree about the "A$$'$" in the seats it the darn probations conference rep. Hate to say it but the ACC just does carry the clout that the probation conference does.

When we go to a AWAY CONFERENCE game and beat them 42-14 then we will be ranked with Awbern.(like this week)This isn't that hard to figure out.
