GSU - W
Southern Michigan - W
@ S. Carolina - this could go either way, but given Spurrier and how much trouble her give UGA no matter where he coaches I'm going with a big L
@ASU - this one could be more one sided than many realize - W
Alabama - W
Tennessee - W
Vandy -W
@LSU - L
Florida - L 3 of 20 says alot
@ Kentucky - W
@ Auburn - W
GT - L - gotta have optimism.

So there you have it: 8-4 overall

The sad part is that the 5-3 could win the eastern division. Its slim but possible.

You pick them to lose to UF based on the fact that they have lost 17 of 20.

You pick us to win even though we have lost 17 of 20.

Odd logic.

3 at least, with a real oppurtunity of losing 5. They could easily come out of September at 2-3 if things don't go their way (SC, Bama and Az State).

Also, throw LSU, Flarduh, the Vowels, Allbarn, and Tech in the mix too.

I've said this all along. If they make it through that schedule with 0 or 1 loss, they deserve to play for the nat'l title.

Didn't we win in '89, '90, '98', '99. '00....not to mention '84 & '85?

ugag loses 2 reg season games, but unfortunately not to us.

Losses to ASU, USC, UF, and Auburn.

Mutts go a mediocre 8-4.

They could lose Bama, @ ASU, @LSU, FL. I think they'll lose 2 of those with UF being the most likely and ASU the 2nd most likely. When is the last time a SEC team won at a Pac 10 school?

So, I say they go 11-2 and possibly play for the NC.

LSU came back from the dead to beat Az State in Tempe on a last second TD pass in '05. That was supposed to be an LSU home game but was moved after Katrina.

Other SEC @ Pac 10 games off the top of my head.

Tennessee lost at Cal last year
USC hung 70+ on Arkansas
USC stomped Auburn in '02(?)
UCLA destroyed preseason #3 Alabama in 2000

I think Peyton Manning and Tennessee won at UCLA back in the mid 90s.

I really dont think ugag will lose to ASU... think about it. ugag does really well against teams early in the schedule, ooc, that are "hyped" to possibly beat them. USC has a better chance, I see the mutts winning in a blowout on nat'l tv.

I'll go 10 and 2... loss to UF loss to us.

I think that after the ASU game, the whole country will be circle-jerking over Georgia, because that's the only obstacle keeping Georgia from being bumped to #1 in the country in their minds. I really think the mutts will dominate the Devils.

With that said, I think they finish the season with 3 losses. Florida, LSU and us. I don't believe that another stretch of gimmicks and hype will get them through the home stretch this year.

I tend to be a little hard on the pups. I don't ever "see" their greatness even if they are good so obviously I think they're wildly overrated going into this season.

ASU could be pretty dang tough. UT and Bama both could have rebound type years and easily not be givens. Auburn, UF, Spurrier. I'd bet Kentucky AND Vandy both will be capable of playing decent/unpredictable football this year. Of course we're going to paddle their beehinds. :D

I'm just not buying the NC juggernaut agenda at all right now. They should do well. They should be a good team. I just don't expect the rest of the conference to bow before them anytime soon.

Ding ding.

Most places rank Georgia 2nd or 3rd and say "It's only because of that schedule" which is an idiotic cop out. If they really took their conference into consideration then they'd have them ranked around the teens.

But maybe they're right - it probably will take 3 or 4 losses for them to stop riding the mutts' jocks and knock them out of the top 10.

Nor am I.

I saw a team last year that struggled mightily most of the year, then beat a beat-up UF team, over-rated UK and AU teams and, by lightning striking about 4 times in the same spot, a game GT team. But they played so much better down the stretch than they did up to the UF game, that they looked good. Then they beat a Hawaii team that my old HS team could have beat.

They have talent, but I'm not really on the "Richt is the next great coach" bandwagon yet. I think he mismanages games regularly, making close games out of ones they ought to win handily by talent differential alone.

I'm also not on the Stafford bandwagon. He reminds me more of Quitsey Carter than he does of David Greene. Tons of talent, tons of headspace.

That said, if all these pieces come together, they are capable of having a great season, but it remains to be seen for me. I'd say they lsoe at leat 2 SEC games this year, and we may surprise them in the 'pool.

At least 2. Not going to predict which ones, I just don't think they get through that schedule unscathed.

WEE WOOO WEE WOOO CALL THE MODS

I just think UGA has a good team thats all. I also think it will take us one year to put everything together. I just think this year we are young and they have too much fire power for us to handle. Having said that I think starting next year the bullfrogs better be scared because thats when CPJ starts beating UGA on a regular basis.

I think that some of you are underestimating the talent on that team. They are loaded but they are also Georgia which means they will find a way to lose a couple. Let me tell you something. I go to some Florida games with a UF alumnus and Urban is fit to be tied over Ritch's latest bush league stunt. Florida wins this one. Dogs lose to either Alabama, Tennessee or LSU. Brutal schedule but after all the years of Dooley winning with cupcakes it's about time.

I think one reason we dont see ugag as a NC contender this year is the fact that we very much had them beat last year and screwed it up. They are a good team, they have great tallent, i agree Richt sometimes makes some bad calls but look at his record as a head coach... you dont get there without being good.
I hate ugag as much as the next guy on here and at first i dont think they are a nc contender but after taking another look at it.... i just dont see too many teams that are better on paper than them next year. Now we all know that can sometimes mean jack but paper is all anybody has going into the season.
I'll tell you this the ball has been bouncing ugag's way (not just against us) for a LONG time. The tide will turn sometime!
