How many will support Drad...

Hell I would take this guy over another year of CHAN-BALL!

I begrudgingly will go along for one more year but that's it. Nothing more. And after that I stop all support if things don't start changing.

Will I support him? Yeah.

For the first time since I've been on this board, and bizarrely so since I used to be one of the most avid Chan defenders, I can say that I would disagree if we didn't make a change at the HC position.

My seatmate and I are actually struggling with supporting DRad due to decisions other than "Chan", the most obvious being his LSU, or should we say "let's put SEC fans in the seats", marketing plan.

I don't think it's a hard decision. Rad needs to do whats best for Tech not whats best for Gailey! I've made no secret of my disdain of Gailey, not him as a person but his lack of PR, and coaching skills. The man may be ok in a place like the NFL but our SA's deserve better. I may not agree with Rad if Gailey stays I just hope that Gailey is gone and a new day will dawn at Tech.

Speak of the devil. Theres oldfoggy.

That plan was started by Braine. And when you can't draw a crowd because no one likes the coach, our fans sell their seats to their UGA cohorts.

PSL's brought in a bunch of new UGA fans that were able to buy good tickets without any long term commitment to Tech athletics. Add in the stupid plan this season for partial season tickets and you get what we've got.

DRad (and Clough) do not know Tech and my guess is they will continue to make poor long term, potentially program killing decisions. (But of course, I am of the opinion that that's what Clough wants.)

By the way, I'm not sure where this was stated before, but there just can not be any complaint any more for selling your tickets to Dog fans. DRad is all about the money, nothing else. The fans have the same right now (to sell their tickets and make money). Allegiance means nothing in DRad's marketing plan.

I disagree Mid, I think Rad will make the right decision and I also think Rad has Tech in his heart not LSU as some might think. I don't think Rad wants red in the stadium but when people sell they sell to whom ever. When we have a product people want to see it will be a sea of gold!

you're clueless on this one. anybody and their brother can now sell tickets. Before, GT or Vandy or Ole miss folks would buy season tickets and use them rather than sit on them. now, folks can use craigslist, ebay, stubhub, ect and pay for their season tickets by selling one game and they don't have to be mocked and cursed at by the opposition. This is going on everyhwhere but obviously you see it a lot more at GT where demand is less than our stadium size.

look at the Falcons; they have been sold out for a few years now but when they Steelers or Saints came to town you might see 30% fans of the opposition. how do you think folks gotr the seats? the same way Ugag fans do. The market drives what ticketa are worth and scalpers, brokers, fans, corp, etc. go to those who will pay.

Go to empire tickets when the season starts. they might have as many as 500 season tickets to GT and they are one broker out of hundreds out there. The secondary ticket market has grown like crazy and folks who are willing to pay can now get tix.

the stadium expansion was a huge mistake as GT demand did not support that utter waste of money and all it did was open up more seats for those willing to pay - SEc fans. Look at UT, their demand was never enough to support 110,000 seats but with false price controls, they could still fill it up. now, you can usually buy a UT seat the week of the game for $20 or less on stubhub, ebay, etc.

things have changed and having a stadium that supplies less than demand is the key. UGA is about par. clemson, GT, and FSU have way too many seats and you can buy tix for nothing for most of their games for this reason.

I'd be disappointed. But I'd still support the program. As much as possible from over 4,000 miles away.
