How many years before GT is competitive with UGA

Well, we'd have to fire a lot of professors, kick out our best students, lower our SAT acceptance, and put some worthless majors in place to get competitive with uga. That will probably take a decade at least
 
2008 UGA was the preseason #1 and we were breaking in a new coach wondering when we’d be competitive against them again. Fast forward a year and we were a Top 10 team and heavy favorites against them.

College football changes so fast. We could get a handful of transfers at key positions over the next 8 months and be a Top 10 team heading into 2021.

We also had 12- 15 future NFL players on the 2008 roster. This rebuild+scheme change, may take longer. Certainly possible though

What is wrong with you people? We will continue to be competitive with UGA in football for the foreseeable future, we could beat them this year.

How many future NFL players are on this team?? No way to know for sure if you can't even be sure how many were on the 2008 roster.

For all we know, in the new offense, Johnson, Oliver, Graham.....any one of the WR's.....may just damn ball out this year. We may have put them in their wheelhouse of an offense. We will see.
 
Well I don't think it happens this year. They have a very polished upperclassman QB and we don't have anyone with experience. Tech rarely beats UGA without a good QB.
 
Starting in 2020 we should be able to
dance w them on any given Saturday. When will we be a consistent top 5 & churn out 11-win seasons...who knows? I mean, we’re either a top 5 program or we’re not. If we are, it begins in about 3 years.

The 2006 class that lead to those 12-15 NFL players was put together by Geoff Collins, who is now our head coach...
 
I think we will kick the doggies ass this year, cuz mind rite.

Otherwise I will tell you that all of CGC's team have had tremendous success 3 years after he has been running recruiting. Everywhere he has been, including the 2009 season at GT.

That would mean we have some fun to look forward to in 2022 and forward, as CPJ drove the recruiting class of 2019 bus and 2020 is CGC's first recruiting class.
