We have already lost Andrew Gardner. We also will lose AJ Smith. Besides those two everybody else returns. We have Phil Smith, Omoreggie Uzzi, and Nick Mcrae who are all redshirting. Hopefully some of these can start next year. Then we are bringing in 5 freshman. But most likely they will all redshirt. So how do you think the line will be next year?

Better, but it will take at least until the 2010 season before it shows a significant improvement when some of CPJ's recruits might start playing.

A lot better. We have some soft guys up front that hopefully will learn this style of offense and get better.

Personally I think they beat each other up during the week. To run this offense you have too go hard and the guys are taking a beating. Also, CPJ inherited chan's Oline and they weren't made to block Paul's style. Give them the bowl practice and spring and I believe you will see a different team. I hope they grow a pair and end the last two games on a high note. If your going to screw up at least look like you give a damn while doing it and knocks someones head off.

Good points John. Have you seen how any of the lineman we are redshirting are preforming?

I agree that we will see SIGNIFICANT improvement in Oline next year.

These guys are pulling and firing off the ball and doing VERY little pass blocking.

I believe CG had them doing zone blocking and certainly pass blocking.

I have heard very good things about the kids being redshirted.

Also, another poster in another thread mentioned that CPJ was throwing in the towel by not pulling the redshirt off of the freshmen. What? For two games? you have to be kidding. What Paul is telling the boys is to grow a pair and play football. You can count on two or three FR. or RSFR starting next year if not more.

Thats good to hear. Yeah out of the 4 freshman we have commited right now i think we have a couple that might come in and play right away.

Thanks for the input. You probably have one of the best prospective on this matter. I two kinda expect to have some frosh starting for us next year. I really hope our OL can get it together this offseason.

Ahh, what do you know about offensive linemen?

I think refrigerator mover might also know something about d-lineman. I saw a replay of an old NFL game and it looked like he ate several for breakfast lunch and dinner. I knew his resume but was too young to see him play much given that my family did not have a tv until the late 90's.

Any chance you can suit up for the game against the mutts?

No chance. I'll be in St Thomas with the family trying to find a friendly TV.

By the way, I knew his resume as well, and was at every game he played at Tech. I was just getting in a friendly dig at Mover.

And also, by the way, we were discussing O-linemen, not D-linemen.

"grow a pair" is a silly thing to say.

Call it what you want but there's a period in one's life that they make the decision to man up and do the job they were brought here to do. I did and many others on this board did as well. If you can't cut it fine, but at least do it 100% full speed.

I don't mean to sound hard on these guys but going through the process as well as others on here, these kids have been coddled for 6 years and now that CPJ is here it's tough on them. I believe they want to do well but they are being reprogrammed during the process. These kids also know I'm 100% behind them and support them fully.
