Howell & Dooly show, "NO rivalry between Tech-Ga"

Max Howell & Steve Dooly were throwing this drivel out over the airwaves Tuesday. (Don't know how many listen to these shows, but they're still on the air & plan on staying). They were rambling about their favorite, the SEC, & Dooly's alma mater, SCar.
Dooly "Ga Tech & Ga are no rivalry. There is NO rivalry. Now SCar/Clemson, they'll shoot you. Auburn/Ala, they'll shoot you."
Max "Miss/Miss St"
Dooly "they'll shoot you"
Max "only in Atlanta is there a Tech/Ga rivalry. If you go to Rome or Valdosta there is no rivalry".

The drift seemed to be the lack of passion for our school & lack of hatred for the state rival with the undertones of not many Tech fans & no passion from them. The undercut was that Ga fans don't view GT as their main rival & are not focused on 1 rival. This is what the fans listening to talk radio are hearing.
Every GT fan in every nook of Ga, the USA & the world needs to get their GTs on the front plate on their cars, wear their GT sweatshirts & GT caps everywhere & talk sports whenever we get a chance. Every GT sport is cooking right now except football & we're only a coupla errant passes away there.
GT fans expect & require excellence in our football program, from top to bottom, & we won't rest until we're back on top in football.
 
those guys don't know what their talking about. although i want to beat UF worse than anything right now, the in-state rivalry is still priority #1. besides, what makes a rivalry interesting is competitive games, and seeing that we are 2-3 over the past 5 years, this is a competitive rivalry, and at this point going 1-12 vs. UF is NOT competitive. now, if we run off 5 more in a row, then we can start talking about how much of a rivalry this is.
 
Those guys are just desperate for ratings.. 680 is 3rd from the bottom in the latest Arbitron ratings...

Max doesnt have the contacts he used to have.. and 680 is more for entertainment now than information ...

Do yourself a favor and tune in to 790..
 
I think the difference in the TECH/ugag rivalry can be summed up this way:

Tech wants to win because it is so much fun to beat ugag....and Tech is disappointed to lose to ugag (exception....the disappointment of losing turns into devastation when the loss is of historical proportions).

Ugag wants to win because it is so catastrophic to lose to TECH.....and ugag expects to beat Tech, so they can't quite let on that they are overjoyed; so they tend to temper their enthusiasm for beating Tech.
 
Max and Dooley are full of crap. They are a couple of SEC bigots that preach the dogma that anything non-SEC ain't worth talking or getting excited about. Hence Georgia could care less about playing Tech. This is pure T BS!

I live in South Carolina and Clemson vs. South Carolina doesn't hold a candle to Tech vs. Georgia in terms of history, tradition and good old fashioned hate. Dooley went to South Carolina and thinks the universe revolves around Columbia. He is a lost ball in high weeds. Max is puppet for whoever his broadcast partner is.

Any real Tech fan takes their greatest delight in whipping the Dawgs and any true Georgia fan feels the same about Tech. The rest are sidewalk fans that don't understand the history of the game. So when they speak, they know not of what they speak.

Those people are trying to sell their show. I work for and with UGAG alum, you cannot imagine the furor and upevil that was around when we beat them 3 straight!! They took our losses worst then the Gator losses ... it's wonderful!

This rivalry goes very deep and has for lots of years and will continue. Now, GT has to get back to the winning trail.
