I'm saying we're going to win this game, much like when Ross first won at Clemson ('89?), and won big...

Despite the various arguments over this game, I'm saying we win by 10+ at least and will control the game.

And this is from a confirmed pessimist

What are our advantages ?

* Coaching - I think we have as good of DC and OC as there is....Not to mention our head coach (Beeware insert comments here

* For the first time in several years, I believe we'll actually blitz on third and long, amoung other things our new DC will do, thus giving our D a fighting chance in the game

* Hollings and Suggs upgrade these two positions over last year...period...You can talk about our level of competetion all day, but these guys are the real deal.

* We have an axe to grind over last year, when we should have won, which would have been 4 in a row.

* We seem to play well at Clem's son for some reason

* We're at full strength for a change

* Suggs will not be intimidated by the crowd at Clemson

* Clemson is overrated IMO,Good but overrated.

* We're due some major breaks after last year (soft I know, but hey, I'll take it

* I don't think Clemson can stop us on third and short if we run left.

* Our Defensive secondary IS improved and the addition of a pass rush will help them out.

* Our depth is improved over last year

* Special teams play will be critical, and here we seem to have the edge.....

But then again, I could be wrong

I agree with the 10 point win!

Win or lose, we drink the booze!

Gold rush,
Last year would have been 5 in a row (not 4). We have beat klimpsum 4 out of the last 5 and historically have beaten them 2 out of every 3 times we have played them.
We will be better off if Buck lets our co-ordinators do their jobs without interference.
Suggs is an upgrade due to mobility. Hollings gives us speed but Burns was an awfully tough runner.
Our depth is very solid (thanks Coach O'leary) although we didn't really use our depth properly in the two earlier games.

TECH 38 klimpsum tators 17

This is starting to make me VERY nervous....

I am now in agreement with about 50% of Beeware's posts

I must admit, when I saw the stadium etc against Vandy, I HAD to thank GOL for everything he did, because IMO without GOL we'd have the same old stadium from the past with no changes...He sure did bring us back, and for that I greatly appreciate it......

So I tip one to you Beeware

I agree also. While I think we underachieved last year, we may very well have overachieved in 2000. I think GOL deserves huge props for what he accomplished here.

I appreciate what he did; but he's gone (by his choice) and now my job is to support the new coach. I think it's only a matter of time before GOL is a D1 HC again, and I will be rooting for him.

In fact, I was lurking on the Syracuse board a few days ago and his name popped up as a possible successor to Pasqualoni.

Wrecked - I will bet that you see Oleary's name pop up for several openings after the season. I haven't checked but I will bet several northern and midwestern schools who need to shake things up at least take a look at him. It may take an extra year for him to get a real look but I will bet he is back in the college game within 3 years. Would potentially be a fit for schools like Syracuse, Rutgers, Indiana, maybe even Northwestern who want someone to start to turn things around.

I wish him well.
