Nothing personal towards Pastner but I want Hunter. We should have hired him a couple/three years ago. The guy 1) wins 2) goes to the tournament and 3) recruits top Georgia talent. Just think what he could do at GT instead of Ga. State. IMO

I honestly don't know why he would want to. More pressure compared to having a lifetime job, at a school your son played at. He's recruiting the exact same area and doesn't need 4 or 5 stars to make the tourney, which is possible being a better team in a terrible conference. Literally the only thing Georgia tech has over Georgia st right now basketball wise is conference. This isn't a matter of why we won't hire him, it's a matter of does he want to coach here?

If we ever are not paying 3 coaches at the same time.

I dunno. He has been around a long time and only recently has had much success. 2 tourneys in 7 years with ga. st. and hasn't duplicated what he did with his son on the team, record-wise.

Good coach, but I'm not sold he could do it at this level of competition.

He's so good that other major programs are afraid to hire him, apparently.

I wouldn't exactly say he lands "top" GA talent, either. He gets the best in-state that the majors don't go after. 3 star guys.

D'Marcus Simonds - This guy is better than anybody we have got out of GA in a while. What happened?

2 tourneys in 7 years yes, but he has won at least 20 games in 5 of those 7 years. And last year's record of 24-11 was almost the same of the 2015 tournament team with RJ that went 25-10.
Not that accurate. CRH is effective in landing big transfers out of GA. Ryan Harrow, 5 star from Marietta, Manny Atkins, 4 star from Tucker were impact players on previous GSU teams in 2014 and 15. GSU's best player is Simonds, who was offered by GT coming out of HS and was a 4 star. Devin Mitchell, a transfer from Alabama, was a 4 star also offered by GT. Damon Wilson is a 4 star transfer from Pitt. Hunter can recruit, and he would be great at GT. I don't think he'll want to leave a great situation at GSU, though. Easier recruiting and more job security in a much easier conference.

He was committed to Miss State for a time, but picked GSU over them, Florida, ugag, and GT. Really one that GT should have landed; would've been an awesome tandem with Okogie.
