It could be that our OL is peaking at just the right time. My basis is this. Gardner had been trying to play most of the year with a bum shoulder. When he decided to hang it up for the year, this gave more snaps to our younger guys, particularly Gilbert and Claytor. After the UNC debacle, we had an open date for the youngsters to work more on basics together on the first string, and now we are playing with a more healthy 5. As far as I have heard, Gilbert and Clayor will be a real impact for us in the future. It all meshed for Miami and here's hoping it will get even better for the rest of our games.
Go Jackets, kick those mutts into oblivion!

Good point. Dont forget about Austin Barrick. He was a WR in high school. He has only played Tackle for 8 months!

Austin Barrick was a TE in highschool. He also played DE.

I like what I've seen from Claytor and Barrick. Gilbert and Voss looked much improved in the Miami game. I think part of our fumble problem comes from missed assignments on the oline. When we cut that out, we reduce our potential for fumbling the ball.

I'm still nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs about this game. We are so due its not even funny. I am praying we can eliminate mistakes and play a complete game.

Me too BOR. I have a good golf buddy who is a big dawg fan. Talking to him Monday about this game, he says he HATES this game every friggin' year. I sort of agree with him. If we lose it, you feel like s****. If we win it, you start worrying immediately about next year's game.
:pat:

I agree. I think we are coming together offensively, and improved blocking is one of the main ingredients. I am nervous about the Georgia game, but confident too. I think for the first time in years we are going to put up big points against them. My main concern is whether we can keep them from putting up big points as well.

For years we had no chance in a shootout, but I'd say we have an excellent chance at a shootout this time around. PJ burns to win this one. You don't think he hasn't been studying this game all year? I can guarantee Coach Paul will call some stuff no one knows about.

Did we not pay our dues against UNC? I, too, am extremely nervous. I won't be one of the ones calling this game early. We won't be putting up huge numbers - nor will uga. It is going to be an ugly fight for both teams - uglier than usual. Emotions are higher than usual this year too.
