I can\'t believe how wrong I was...

about the direction of our program. I must have been blinded by the 51-7 fiasco. I'm happy to say that Coach Gailey and his staff have made a believer out of me. Let's keep proving people wrong! Beat the hell out of Clemson!

Gray Ghost.. dont slap yourself too hard.. your feelings were easy to understand.. I wasnt very happy last December and January myself, but I also knew that you have to give anyone time to do their job.. coaching a football team is not a cookie cutter thing either.. the thing that is becoming more and more apparent to me is that Gailey intends to build a program with a different style of player than GOL.. not that one is better than the other.. just different..

I also think that people forget that the losses in personnel over the past two seasons.. it has been huge.. the coaches and kids are reacting to these losses in splendid fashion..

I would also add this.. if anyone had spent any time at practices this summer it was clearly evident that we were going to shock some people.. and I will say this.. had Newberry not torn his ACL.. or defense would be even better than its been..

We have alot to look forward to .. and although some on this board will always be negative.. I think it is evident to the majority that Gailey is going to be very good for Tech

i too am cautiously optimistic. i see good things to come, but we really need some depth/talent at certain positions imho.

but im really worried about saturday. especially after the two emotionally draining saturdays.

Re: I can\'t believe how wrong I was...

I would agree.. people forget the youth of key players at times.. but I really liked what I saw in preseason practice.. liked it better than anything I had seen since 2000.. and I like what I have seen from the team thus far... give us 10 players back on the team and we are 3-0... take away our depth and you are 1-2..

Re: I can\'t believe how wrong I was...

I think some people already owe our last two recruiting classes an apology based just on their contributions so far.

I would have liked to have seen more total players but I realized the ones we got were special.

Other people expressed disappointment in the number and the quality. I hope they see the error of their ways.

GT Crew, you don't have any access on your profile.

Would you contact me through mine please?

Actually, I believe the only starters from those classes are Ball and Wrotto. Reis, Brezina and Wheeler seem to be the only ones seeing significant time as reserves (Scott is returning kicks).

There are a lot of guys listed as sophmores from the 2001 class who are playing a lot this year: Davis, Henderson, Honeycutt, Houston, Landry, Parker, and Wilkerson. (Several others did not redshirt and are playing: Butler, Dorsey, Honeycutt, Leon Robinson, Tidwell-Neal, and Wallace. An impressive class actually. Hollings was in it too.)

The last two recruiting classes proof in the pudding days are still to come.

I mispoke, Leon Robinson and Tony Hollings were not class of 2001 but earlier. Sorry.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">That's always a key in any game. I think this team has a lot of character and heart. The leaders on the team play a HUGE roll, but the coaches guide those players.

Really do believe we're tough because of character.

Let's Rock Clemson, and play serious YELLOW JACKET FOOTBALL!!!

Amen GTT... I have missed your posts !!!

I've got a feeling we're going to roll on Clemson. The last two games have been high profile, high emotion games, but I don't see this team letting up. They have played with a joie de vivre which is inspiring. Ball especially.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I will never forget feeling the same way about Bobby Ross after his 1st 2 Miserable years here..I thought to myself (This guy has no clue) Then in his 3rd year we beat Clemson (At the time they were the FSU of the ACC) and we got rolling..Boy did i change my mind after that game....

Re: I can\'t believe how wrong I was...

I too am surprised at the caliber of play after the end of year debacle.I've GOT to give mucho credit on-
1.The amazing improvement in the QB play.A LOT easier said than done.
2.The overall defense even though we have 2 SR LBs that are 2 of the best pairs EVER.Interesting how this group of DBs tackle well except for SR Cox(Roof?)
3.How the kicking game has become a strength and not a weakness.
4.The overall approach.(2 fake punts?)Let's face it- going to Tally on Sat nite and playing to 1 pt game is AMAZING.GOL never came this close.
