I can't wait to play with GT in NCAA 2010 (video game)

Anybody else play these games?

I'm thinking that Dwyer and Nesbitt will be the impact players on offense. With Burnett being the impact player on D.

Dwyer should be rated in the 90s. Nesbitt wil have a high rating and high speed but his accuracy is probably gonna suck. Hopefully Thomas gets a boost cuz he's slow as molasses in the current version.

My major hope is that they work on the playbook and get it up to par. I know that's asking a lot of EA, but it would be sooo fun to run this option true to life in a video game.

I could easily see GT being one of those teams people pick to play with online and other folks calling it cheap. Like WVU circa 2 years ago.

Fast qb + fast/power back = WIN

I have always noticed a problem in the passing out of a option play in these games. It required a lot and usually don't have the time to do it.

Yeah, that is annoying. You take the snap, go into the regular option move, and if you want to pass you have to press A, then wait for the quarterback's momentum to stop if you actually want to make a good throw. The defense usually doesn't give you time to do all that.

They also need to fix the angle and behavior of the pitch man (A-back). Hopefully the option game will get some love, but people have been saying that for 5+ years now.

I have some fun running the option in NCAA 09.

The only problems are that I really only use one formation (And the sub-formations thereof) in order to remain true to Paul Johnson's offense and that the GTAA dropped the ball and sent EA the old uniforms, I guess out of terror of having them revealed before TGJE. A guy from EA actually told me that they had our Navy jerseys ready to go in the game and the GTAA told them absolutely NO jerseys other than white or gold.

Next year's game ought to be a lot of fun though and if they keep up with what they did next year, the first small tidbits of info on the game ought to roll around with the BCS games.

I've been enjoying '09 for the PS3 and can't wait to have GT with proper stats. And also to have U[sic]GA with proper stats...that 99/99/99 crap pisses me off, but I still beat em! :)

Speaking of NCAA, I got my first HDTV a couple of weeks ago and this game looks awesome on it.

Yea, I've loved my HDTV with this game (and others as well). I'm assuming it's widescreen as well? Widescreen makes a HUGE difference in football, as you can actually see sideline-to-sideline. Over the summer at my internship I didn't have my TV so I had an SD non-widescreen, it was horrible. I couldn't even see my receivers!

Yep. Another game I highly recommend checking out in 1080p is LittleBigPlanet. That game (Visually and in Gameplay) is absolutely to die for. Lots of fun, especially with friends or your wife/girlfriend.

On my PS2 version of the game there is an alternate jersey that is black with gold pants. I got really excited when I though they were blue at first.....oh well.

What? For us? Is this NCAA 09 and are you serious?

They'll have to have a "Paul Johnson mind" to put an offense on the game close to what we run on Saturdays. I doubt any of their programmers have the inside track to PJ's mind.

That being said, I haven't played video games in years. My wife made me sell mine when I went to law school to ensure I wouldn't be distracted from studying.

They also do not have the A-back sweep play.....or the counter option to the B-back (the play that JD scored on the first play of the second half). We run both of those plays atleast 5 times a game.

Glad to know I am not the only one who has looked for the sweep play. There is also a triple option where the wide out comes around as if he were an A-back and I have not found that play either.

EVERYONE WHO RUNS THE FLEXBONE I HAVE A TIP FOR YOU!

When you run the B-back dive in a balanced flexbone formation, if you are going left or right of the QB take the A-Back of that same side and motion him towards your B-Back, when you snap the ball the A-Back will shoot to the line and through the hole and block down field for you. Alot like an ISO run out of the I-Formation with the HB.

++ Motion, slide protection and changing up the snap-count can go a long way in making the option more effective in NCAA 09.
