I don't feel good at all about this game.

Lets face the facts. We have always lost games like this. Gailey and Co. have yet to be in a game that sets up like the BC game and WON it. You know that type of game, where the entire fan base is looking at this team and almost challenging them to "PROVE IT!" On every previous "PROVE IT" stage this team and coaching staff have gotten bowled over on their ass.

I just can't get excited. BC seems on paper to play into our hands. We SEEMINGLY are clicking on all cylinders. However, there are chinks in the armor. Namely are cornerbacks and quarterback. BC will 2 step quick pass rink a dink us to death until our rush backs off, and then they'll hand the ball off and run behind their 340 lb Left Tackle.

While BC has lost two of their starting defensive line, they sub in and out a lot of players. They've proven that no one can rush on them. We're going to have to leave our hopes in Taylor Bennett, which hasn't passed for a TD all season.

I just feel honest to God sick. Its like by hypnotism that I will find myself drawn into BDS on Saturday night just to watch the wheels fall off. I can't help myself but go see the disaster. Like driving by a car crash... you just can't help but look. I know one thing, at least I'll be in an environment to drink my pain away. The Jack Daniels will flow fast and free. In the end, at least I'll numb myself to the pending outcome.

Even if we find a way to win, we will do so where the nation still doesn't respect us, and the AP pollers will be looking for a way to drop us out of the top 25. Its just not worth it. Maybe I just won't go.

Damn you BOR, no faith, how can you say this, lack of true fan support, just stay home, sell ticket to real fans, no blue jerseys, fire Paul Hewitt, pick up eggs, milk, tofu, etc. etc.

Keep on rolling. :)

Couldn't say it better

my belly aches ever more as 8PM Saturday approaches. Kinda like watching the LaFayette Ramblers week after week....

You got a problem with tofu?

Saturday seems years away, doesn't it.

Like you, I am concerned. I watched Samford's WR's drop 4 or 5 easy 5 yard dink-n-dunk passes that BC's WRs are not likely to miss. I also remember UVAs massive OL steamrolling us in Charlottesville 2 years ago, and think of BC's penchant for turning out NFL OL, if nothing else from that program.

However, it just might happen that: our veteran OL socks it to their depleted defense (minus Toal and Raji), and we run it down their pieholes, and our Tenuta blitz sacks, strips and picks off their statue of a QB, like we've done many of his ilk before.

It could go either way.

BOR, maybe you are right. But on the other hand maybe you are the jinx. Why not stop posting and just stay home. Then, if GT wins and it is a good win we'll all know the problem. And, from then on we won't have to worry about the games or your posts.

I feel just the opposite -

Especially now that we know Matt Ryan loves cosmos, reads Mens Health, and pees sitting down - well, we're gonna roll.

Seriously, I'm ready for kick off NOW, and I do think we're winning and winning convincingly. TC goes for over 100, TB throws for 200, and we cover the 7.

Rock and Roll -

Rp Bor!

BOR you bastard, I read your book. I know what you are up to with this reverse psychology crap! Keep up the good work, we might make a Tech man out of you after all.

Go Jackets!

It's just ridiculous that this post doesn't even mention "vomit". I would have even settled for "vommit".

One thing not talked about yet is that BC's pass defense looks bad. I mean...really bad. Wake Forest got 366 yards passing and NC State got 351 yards passing. For comparison, NC State got 269 yards passing against UCF and Wake Forest got 140 yards. WF's completion percentage also was 75 percent against BC and only 50 percent against Nebraska.

If, as BOR suggests, the game hinges on Taylor's passing, BC would be a good defense for Taylor to start throwing against.

I feel very nervous about this game as well, but then I remember that we've done well against really good drop-back passers in the past (Philip Rivers and Brady Quinn), which brings my feelings to a solid PUSH.

That said, we gotta be able to get in the backfield on Ryan. He will pick our corners apart if he has too much time. If he's dropping back and making <5 yard passes every time, then I like our chances. If he's dropping back and can take his time and make 10+ yard passes, then we're in trouble.

Nice post BOR, but in keeping with prior weeks I'll sing the same song:

You shouldn't be so worried about the game. You should definitely take an antacid or something as game time nears.

Yesterday, I started having similar feelings as BOR, after watching GT football for over 40 years. But, then I began thinking about all the talent and depth we have, coupled with our coaches, GT has NEVER had a team like this that I remember, though I didn't see the great teams of the 50's.
We are going to kick ass Saturday night, mark my words!
:drink1:

Time of Possession will be HUGE in this game. If they can methodically dink and dunk us to death, our defense will get tired, true, but not as tired as last year vs. Notre Dame...we actually are using our depth this year.

It will also be interesting to see how much faith 007 has in TBennett's passing game. A lot of questions should be answered by midnight, Saturday.

If it makes you feel better, I vomitted a little in my mouth when I wrote it.

I'm not getting the same feeling about this game...the game I'm worried about is Clemson in a few weeks.
